ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR SATURDAY, OCTOBER 5TH, 2019
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is World Teachers Day which commemorates teacher organizations around the world. It’s aim is to mobilize support for teachers and ensure that the needs if future generations will continue to be met by teachers.
Teachers make a vital contribution to our world by educating our children .
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side .

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination and instill a love of learning
Brad Henry
As there are several teachers in my family I’ll be celebrating today. I can’t say enough about all that they do. Next to parents, teachers are probably the most influential people in a child’s life.So it’s important we have good teachers. and I think that the teachers in my family are the best. They go way over and above what is required of a teacher. They are the very best! Not only do they have classes of their own to teach, they also have to take classes to keep up will all there is to know about education.
One thing I know for sure is that we are never to old to learn something new. The world is constantly changing we need to know how to make those changes wisely.
The only teaching I’ve ever done besides that of my own children was some religious education classes for our church and for that I had to take hours of education myself on how to it. It was a volunteer position and I’m sure I learned as much as the students did.
These days I see my grandchildren going to school and pray that they will take every advantage of the education provided to them. There is so much to learn. Never regret a good education, it can only make you wiser and prepared to make a good contribution to the world.
Today is my day to cook for the weekend and I’m thinking about cooking something warming as it’s to be chilly here this weekend. It’s time to put something in the crockpot and let is simmer all day.
Chicken Soup
2 lbs chicken, skinned and trimmed
3 medium carrots cut into 1/2 inch pieces
3 stalks of celery cut in to 1/2 inch pieces
1 medium leak , while and light green parts only, cleaned and chopped
2 garlic cloves, pealed and smashed
2 fresh thyme sprigs
2 fresh sage sprigs
1 fresh rotary sprig
1 bay leaf
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp ground black pepper
8 c. chicken broth
2 c. wide egg noodles
3 tbsp. finely chopped parsley
1 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
Place chicken and next 11 ingredients in a slow cooker. Cover and cook only 6 hours until chicken and vegetables are tender.
Remove chicken and dice meat, discarding any bones. Return meat to slow cooker. Stir in noodles and parsley. Cover and cook on high 15 to 20 minus until noodles are tender. Stir in lemon juice and serve immediately and garnish with any leftover parsley.
Chicken soup is comfort food at it’s best and is good for whatever ails you.
Today’s pictures are the teachers in my family. Some are teacher aides and some teach religion classes like I once did. Others are full time teachers in the classroom. And there are others that do a lot like DS#6 who is a Den Leader for Cub Scouts and DSIL who coaches a youth baseball team. Educating our young people involves a lot of people. I only hope I managed to get them all in and gpt their titles correct. Please correct if I’m wrong.
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!

COUNTING MY GIFTS
A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops
Henry Adams
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
7480. for all teachers
7381. for something new to learn every day
7482. for soup on a chilly day
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU!

Thank You Teachers for all you do!
I recall you having said there were several teachers in your family ..so, of course, I enjoyed these introductions! Blessed are they who help mold children's thoughts and encourage their dreams.
You got a great variety of teachers/aides in your family, Ma! It does take a special person to teach others and it is a very special talent I know I don't possess. I truly admire those that teach and especially those who are exceptional teachers! My niece and her husband are band/music teachers. They inspire me when I read what she posts on Facebook in that she is trying her best to be the best teacher out there. I think that is true in the teachers in your family! I like that recipe for chicken soup. I'm going to make it soon. I like recipes that can be done in the crock pot.
