ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 16TH, 2019
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is National Boss’s Day which is all about honoring your Boss. It recognizes those in a supervisory role that demonstrate kindness, fairness and understanding.
Boss’s Day dates baci to 1958 when State Farm insurance employee Patricial Bays Haroski registered the date with the government. Haroski wanted to honor her father who was also her boss for all the advice he gave to her and other siblings throughout their careers. She chose his birthday as the date for this special holiday.
To celebrate today, chip in with your fellow employees for a bouquet of flowers or take your boss to lunch to show your appreciation.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side .
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
The three ‘C’s of leadership are Consideration, Caring and Courtesy. Be polite to everyone.
Brian Tracy
When I worked we always did something special for the Boss. Thankfully my bosses were good ones so I wanted to shew my appreciation. I was thankful for my job and enjoyed working where I was. Now I’m retired, I don’t have a boss to honor so I guess I’ll honor my previous boss’s. It was the work I did over the years that allows me to retire after all.
I’ve enjoyed every day of retirement and don’t regret quitting work. Although it was a little hard to give up a regular paycheck, I’ve had enough for what has been needed. And most of all I have more time to spend with family. which I couldn’t do when I worked. I’ve been able to help out and babysit, when I worked my days were full of work and couldn’t do so..
I’ve no pictures of my former boss’s but I do have plenty of my family and that is what I’m sharing today. Lots of pumpkin fun for all.
I had thought about grocery shopping today but it’s to be a wet and rainy day, so I may put if off until tomorrow… We’ll see...
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The best bosses master the fine art of emotional detachment. They learn to forgive people who lash out at them…and they learn to forgive themselves, too.
Robert Sutton
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
7513. for the work and the bosses I’ve had
7514. for retirement giving me more time for family
7515. for my family, they are so important to me
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
By working faithfully eight hours a day you may eventually get to be boss and work 12 hours a day.
Robert Frost
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

I'm very thankful for all the jobs and bosses I had over the years.
All cute pumpkins and kiddos that go with them :)
I've liked the majority of the bosses I've worked for over the years. I don't remember doing too much for them for bosses' day though and its hit and miss with hubby whether his employees remember the day or not.

You have such a beautiful family! I’d rather have more time than money any day......
What a great family and post.
What adorable 'pumpkin' pictures!
Ya, today I'm feeling a little wistful for two former bosses in particular who were SO much more than just my employer. They are both deceased now, but I'll always cherish their memories and how they helped me to grow.
