ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR TUESDAY,OCTOBER 1ST, 2019
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Welcome October!
The month of October is Adopt a Dog Month, American Cheese Month, Apple Month, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Class Reunion Month, Country Music Month, Eat better, Eat Together Month, Fair Trade Moth, German Heritage Month, Halloween Safety Month, National Bake and Decoreate Month, National Caramel Month, National Chili Month, National Field Trip Month. National Popcorn Poppin’ Month, National Stop Bullying Month, Positive Attitude Month and Sausage Month.
Today is National Pasta Day which includes Linquini, fettuccine, spaghetti, tortellini, ziti, the list is endless . Pasta is typically thought of as and Italian dish, but thee is evidence that people living in Asia in 2000 BC made noodles with millet.
There are over 350 varieties lof pasta in Italy. The highest quality of dried pasta is made with our durum semolina flour and water. They say the typical Italian person eats over 60 pounds of paste per yer. In comparison, Americans only eat about twenty pounds of pasta per person per year.
Today celebrate, enjoy and eat your favorite pasta dish with a scrumptious sauce.!
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side .
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Better a dinner of herbs where love is than a fattened ox and hatred with it.
Solomon
Today I’m going to make some spaghetti with meat sause for dinner. It always hits the spot and is easy to make.
One Pot Meaty Spaghetti
1 lb. extra lean ground beef
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 onion, diced
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. basil
1 tsp oregano
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp paprika
1/4 tso. oeooer
1 can diced tomatoes, undrained. 15 oz.
1 can tomato sauce, 15 oz.
1/4 c. chopped fresh parsley
8 oz. uncooked shaghetti, broken in half
1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
In a 6 qt. stockpot, cook and crumble beef with garlic and onions over medium het until no longer pink. Stir in sugar and seasonings. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, water and 1/4 c. parsley. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer covered for 5 minutes.
Stir in spaghetti, a little at a time, return to a boil. Reduce heat to medium low, cook, uncovered until spaghetti is al dente, stirring occasionally. Stir in cheese. Sprinkle with additional parsley.
Makes 6 servings.
This is a quick and easy meal and I love it that it only takes one pan. As you can see in the picture above I have plenty of fresh parsley and oregano.
This evening I have a meeting to attend with our housing association. They have made a lot of changes around here with several new homes being put on site and new people moving in. I quite imagine that they want to make sure we are all on the same page. There is a new home right at the end of my street that is lovely and includes a front porch. I like it very much but still I think I prefer my enclosed patio to a front porch. .
I hope you all have aTERRIFIC Tuesday!

October is a magical month full of fun things to do ...
I'm smiling. I think you were the one who posted a spaghetti recipe to be done in the slow cooker? Well, Tom decided that was a fine idea … but I forget how he 'tweaked' an ingredient or two. ANYway, he also let it cook far longer than the directions. MUSH!
It sounds like your landlords are good stewards.
I like that recipe! I wonder if it is possible to cook the sauce and pasta together and then cook the ground meat separately. I have picky eaters here, LOL, when the family comes over. The kids sometimes like the meat with spaghetti, sometimes not. I think I'll try it one time for hubby and me and see how it turns out. It does sound easy because I like spaghetti but if you make it with one pot for pasta, one for meat, one for sauce it gets quite messy.
That's great that your management company is keeping everyone informed with what is going on. Its better than trying to figure out what they are up to. Just so they don't raise the rent, LOL.
