ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR FRIDAY,OCTOBER 4TH, 2019
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is World Smile Day which was started by Harvey Ball, a commercial artist from Worcester, Massachusetts. He is known to have created the yellow Smilely Face in 1963. After he died in 2001, The Harvey Ball World Smile Foundation was created to honor his name and memory. The slogan of the foundation is ‘improving the world, one smile at a time. ' Today it is one of the most popular nonverbal ways to convey joy, happiness and cheer.
It’s a day around the globe to encourage people to do acts of kindness to spread good will and cheer. The best way to celebrate today is to make people around you smile.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side .
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Let us always meet each other with a smile, for the smile is the beginning of love.
Mother Teresa
There is magic in your smile. Every time you time you smile, you throw a feel good party in your brain. The simple act of smiling can transform you and the world around you. Research shows us that a smile is contagious. It can make us appear more attractive to others . It lifts our mood as well as of the moods around us. And it can even lengthen our lives. The act of smiling activates messaging to the brain that benefits your health and happiness. It relaxes your body and lowers your heart rate and blood pressure. The world is simply a better place when you smile.
It’s the end of the week once again. How time flies. We are also definitely cooler too, our 90 degree days are gone and we’re now in the 60’s That is a big jump in temps. and our nights are going to be even cooler. going in the 40’s. It may be that I’ll have to put my flannel sheets on the bed. They are warmer and cozier than the ones I use in the summer. It may be that summer has finally fled our neighborhood.
It’s looking like it’ll be much the same all of next week too. It’ll be time to make some soup and I’m thinking chili sounds very good. With the hot weather I’ve not had any for a long time. And a pan of cornbread is a possibility too. It’s cool enough to turn the oven on. Finally!
I’m going to get outside and get the leaf duty done today. I don’t rake them, I mulch them up with the lawnmower. It’s much easier on the back.
The pictures today are some of the smiling faces in my family. they always make me smile !
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!

Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

A smile can change someone's day!
All great smiley faces you shared of your family, Ma! I do love to smile at others and get a smile back. Glad to hear the temperatures are cooling down a bit!

Your daughter has the greatest smile! It's a bit late, but now I'm smiling!
I volunteer at a local hospital and smiling is the first requirement. It is interesting that it has become more the norm for me in my everyday life.
