ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR FRIDAY, OCTOBER 25TH,2019
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Freankenstein Friday which pays homage to one of the greatest gothic stories of all time. In 1918, Mary Shelley wrote a novel about a young scientist named Victor Frankenstein who discovers how to give life to inanimate bodies. He creates a monster that pursues him to the ends of the earth and virtually destroys everything he holds dear.
People often mistakenly use the name Frankenstein to refer to the hideous monster, but Victor Frankenstein never gives his creation a name. Today we can read the book or create a mad scientist Halloween costume to celebrate Frankenstein Friday!
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
I do like to cook; I’m sort of a mad scientist in the kitchen.
Kyle Chandler
I have shown the picture above of one of my grandson’s dressed as Frankenstein’s monster many times before, but he is still the cutest little monster I’ve ever seen, so I’ll continue to use it. Monsters are things not many of us like at all. They are scary creatures because of their looks and actions. But this little guy is anything but scary.
I don’t know why people love to be scarey and create monsters. This time of year we’ll be seeing plenty of spooky costumes. Boo! I prefer the cute costumes my self. I like the superheroes too. The monsters can stay home as far as I’m concerned. I love seeing all the little ones that go trick or treating. It’s a fun time for me.
Kids especially love to dress up and pretend to be someone else. And that is what the pictures I’m showing today are all about. Costumes from the past.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Don’t fear the nighttime cause the monsters know that you’re divine. Don’t fear the sunshine, cause everything’s better in th summertime.
Michael Fronti
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
7537. for imagination which makes for a lot of fun
7538. for cute grandchildren, they are not monsters
7539. for classic stories that last over time
.
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Only cute monsters allowed.
Love the quotes here as always!
I don’t understand WANTING to be scared! Now I have friends in the haunt industry and realize what a huge industry it is becoming.
I’ve never liked scary movies either.
We dress up on Halloween and hand out candy and Louis Dean plays the Monster Mash by Boris Karloff on his computer which you can hear through the window by the front porch. Boris Karloff reminded me of my kind granddad.
Your family in costume are wonderful! My grands dress up in characters, too.
Happy Weekend!
Such cute pictures and I never get tired of seeing your little grandson dressed up as a monster. I agree with you, Ma. I don't like scary movies, books, etc. Why would people pay good money to go to a scary movie and be afraid and sometimes not able to sleep for days afterward? I too like the cute silly costumes. I always like to try to guess what the kids are dressed as when they come to the door. More often than not, I'm wrong on what they are, but is fun to see the creativity out there.

I have to agree, your little 'monster' is so adorable! Glad to know I'm in good company about not wanting to be scared by costumes/books/movies. Isn't real life scary enough?
