ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is National Chocolate Chip Day, which is a day to celebrate the tiny morsels of chocolate that make any dessert better. It isn’t just about cookies, it’s about all the things you can include chocolate chips in. Pancakes, muffins, pudding, ice cream granola bars, pies, are just a few of the wonderful creations you can add to them.
To celebrate today, pick up a bag of chocolate chips and bake something yummy!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Anything is good if it’s made of chocolate.
Jo Brand
I happen to have chocolate chips on hand here at my house, so I’ll definitely be baking up a chocolate chip dessert today. They say that both oats and chocolate are good for us so I’m thinking that this should count as a healthy treat.
Chewey Choc-Oat Chip Bars
1 c. butter softened
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. granulated sugar
2 Tbsp. milk
2 tsp.vanilla
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. Oats
2 c. chocolate chips
1 c. chopped nuts, optional
2 eggs
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Beat butter and sugars until creamy. Add eggs, milk, vanilla. Beat well. Add combined flour, baking soda and salt. Mix. will. Stir in oats and chocolate chips and nuts. Mix well.
Press dough in botton of a 13 by 9 inch baking pan and bake for 30 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool completely and cut into bars. Store tightly covered.
Today is going to be a busy one for me. I’ve shopping to do and errands to run. Thankfully we’ll have a party sunny day and it’s a bit warmer too. If the grass dries out enough I’d also like to get the yard work done, but if time doesn’t permit, maybe I can get it done tomorrow before the rain returns again. We’ll see...
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wedsday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
I’m grateful for every day I’m still alive. Everything is still working. I contribute it to eating a lot of processed foods. I think its’ the preservatives that keep me going. That, and I eat as much chocolate as I can get my hands on.
Joan Rivers
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
7066. for chocolate chips, very versatile
7067. for a warmer and sunnier day
7068. for lots to do, my life is never boring
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
.
ADVICE FOR TODAY
All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt.
Charles M. Schulz
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Everyone needs a little chocolate now and then...thankfully I got a box of chocolate covered strawberries for Mothers Day!
I'm not 'into' chocolate like Tom, but now you've given me an idea. Suppose a bag of chocolate chips would be less expensive than the Hershey Kisses he keeps around!
Love that quote by Joan Rivers. Gone too soon.
I loved making chocolate chip cookies as a child and then making them with my kids. Such a simple recipe but so delicious especially warm with a glass of milk. We got a dessert tray from one of the local restaurants to celebrate Mother's Day with the family and included in it were chocolate chip cookies. I had a nibble of one and it was so good!

I think I read that chocolate chip cookies were made by mistake. Thank goodness for mistakes like that! Grateful for chocolate chips! xx
