ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Happy Birthday to you♥
Today is also Clean Up Your Room Day which is a day to get motivated to do your Spring Cleaning. Whether you decide to tackle a messy closet, a pile of laundry, a whole room or even the whole house, it’ll be worth the effort.
The tradition of spring cleaning goes back to the days when people relied on fire to light and heat with. After months of being shut up with no fresh air everything in the house would be covered with soot and ash. The entire family would roll up their sleeves and move all the furniture and linens outdoors. They would then clean the house from top to bottom, scrubbing down the walls and beating the dirt out of carpets and dusting everything in sight.
Begin your spring cleaning by putting things away in their proper place and once you’ve decluttered it will much easier to do the actual cleaning. When you've completed your project remember to reward yourself for all your hard work.
Happy Clean Up Your Room Day!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
In the spring, I have counted 136 different kinds of weather inside of 24 hours.
Mark Twain
This DD’s birthday is one that happens to be close to home. They live in our hometown, but I may not get to see her today. She’s a very busy mom, but I should be seeing her at church on Sunday. Meanwhile, a card was sent out wishing a very happy day!
I’ve been working on the Spring cleaning for awhile now and most everything is in place. I wanted to have it all done before the nice weather came. Although we’ve had a nice day now and then, there haven’t been many of them.
With the cleaning done, I have more time to get the yard work done and to get outside and enjoy the nice weather when it’s here..
I may not heat and light the house like our ancestors did, but it does certainly feel good to be able to open the windows and let some fresh air in. We get so few days to do so, before long it will be time to turn the air conditioner on and then everything will be shut up again.
Today I’m having a simple supper by heating up something from the freezer, I have a big bag of fish sticks on hand, so I looked for something different to do with them. Don’t laugh, I happen to love them.
Fish Sticks Marinara Casserole
Makes 6 servings
18 oz. frozen broccoli spears, thawed and drained
1 tbsp. olive oil
1/2 tsp friend basil
1 clove garlic, chopped
12 frozen fish sticks
2 c. pasta sauce
1/4 c. shredded Parmesan cheese
6 slices mozzarella cheese
Heat ove to 350 degrees. In an 8 inch square glass baking dish arrange broccoli, drizzle with oil, and sprinkle with basil and garlic.
Place fish sticks on broccoli. Spoon pasta sauce over fish. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Arrange mozzarella cheese on top.
Bake uncovered about 30 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
Tomorrow I’ll be cooking for the weekend. They say the weekend will be on the cool side with highs in the 50’s and lows in the 40’s so I’m thinking some soup may be on the menu.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Who will tell whether one happy moment of love or the joy of breathing or walking on a bright morning and smell the fresh air, is not worth all the suffering and effort which life implies.
Erick Fromm
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.

Happy ☺ Birthday 🎂
Happy birthday to DDIL#5! Lovely family they are!
Your recipe with the fish sticks looks interesting, Ma. I haven't had fish sticks in a long time. Might have to try some down the road.
I need to do a bit of spring cleaning here before it gets too hot to do so.

Happy Birthday to your DDIL!
I've not yet begun Spring cleaning, but I'm amazed (and tickled) how very little dust accumulates here, compared to Arizona. On the way to son's place tomorrow there's a Bed, Bath & Beyond where I hope to find a telescoping dust wand. After your example of when cleaning meant in the early days, my job doesn't seem so difficult.
"WHAT cleaning meant …" Oops, I did it again!
