ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National Day of Prayer which calls on all people of different faiths in the United States to pray for the nation and its leaders. It is held on the first Thursday of May each year.
In 1775 the Continental Congress allocated a time for prayer in forming a new nation. Over the years there have been many that called for a day of prayer, including President Abraham Lincoln in 1863. On April 17th 1952, President Harry Truman signed a bill proclaiming the National Day of Prayer into law in the United States. President Reagan amended the law in 1988, designating the first Thursday of May each year as the National Day of Prayer.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Prayer should be the key of the day and the lock of night.
George Herbert
I hope that you all will join me in praying for our Nation and it’s leaders today. I believe that prayer works and our prayers are always heard.
We really warmed up here yesterday with temps around 80 degrees, our normal temps are in the 60’s this time of year, but rain has continued to be a constant and even though the grass is growing it is way too wet outside to cut the grass. The long range forecast says that we could have a dry day come Sunday, but that’s about all. It would be nice if it held off until Monday evening giving me a chance to mow.
Today is my day to get out and do some grocery shopping so I’m hoping to get there and back without getting wet. On the bright side I’ve got a raincoat and an umbrella so I’m prepared.
I hope you all have a GREAT day. Happy Thursday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Appreciation is the highest form of prayer, for it acknowledges the presence of good whenever you shine the light of your thankful thoughts.
Alan Cohen
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
7027. for prayer, it works
7028. for a raincoat and an umbrella
7029. for rain, we need it for things to grow
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Love that quote from George Herbert! Here is another one, "Thou who has given so much to me, give me one thing more- a thankful heart."
It is good to pray for our nations and leaders. We do true to do it daily when hubby and me pray before dinner. They need all the prayers we can give!

I'm honored to pray alongside you, Pam. There's so much ill-will, hatred even.
Hope you had some fun grocery shopping. I always enjoy it.
