ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Don’t Fry Day which is always the Friday before Memorial Day and promotes sun safety awareness. It is a day which encourages sun lovers to slip on a shirt, slop on the sunscreen, slap on a hat and wrap on sunglasses, especially between the hours of 10 and 4.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
When the sun is shinning I can do anything; no mountain is too high; no trouble too difficult to overcome.
Wilma Rudolph
I had an occasion to be outside a good bit yesterday and was reminded that it is time to get out the sunscreen. I did have sunglasses on , but also wished I had a hat on. Today is going to be a sunny day too and I’m thankful for that, we haven’t had many at all.
Sadly more rain is headed our way tomorrow and the next day, but it’s looking like Memorial Day will be dry for those that have picnics and outdoor parties to attend.
This will be the last school day here for many, but in my hometown they still have a couple more weeks left. They get out later, but don’t have to return to school until after Labor Day. Here they are out early but go back the middle of August. One way or the other, I think everyone is ready for summer vacation.
The pictures today come from DS#4 who got to celebrate his birthday dinner watching the sunset on the beach.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Sunshine always make me smile ...
Great pictures of your son and his family enjoying his birthday celebration! So pretty there! Good reminder indeed for sunscreen. Have to buy some fresh stuff for this year, but it might not be a few more weeks until we're swimming since the pool is still cold.
betty
Good reminder about sun protection! I just came from Sandra (Mad Hatter) blog, whose hubby is facing a second surgery for melanoma. Funny, I don't recall this being an issue while growing up in the 50's and 60's; no-one I'd ever heard of developed skin cancer.
