ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Christmas in July which is an unofficial holiday and a fun way to satisfy the craving for cooler weather and holiday cheer that many experience during the hottest month of the year.
Television stations show Christmas specials and many stores throw special Christmas in July sales. Christmas in July imitates the festivities of the actual Christmas and signifies our yearning for the coolness of winter amid the scorching summer months.
The celebrations include Christmas traditions like Santa Claus, ice cream and gifts. It was held that celebrating in the warm season would ensure a strong, happy winter Christmas season. It’s a fun way to spend some time with family when it is easier for them to travel rather than in the freezing months of winter.
Happy Christmas in July !

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.
Chales Dickens
This is a fun holiday for me and it’s also the day I officially begin preparations for Christmas. I have a large family that I make gifts for and it takes awhile to get it all done.
Thinking about or looking at pictures of winter does help to cool us down on these hot summer days. Winter is not my favorite season of the year, but Christmas is definitely my favorite holiday. Today’s pictures are of this past year’s Christmas festivities.
We are not having a party today to celebrate but are having a family get together on Saturday. It’s just a coincidence that it’s just a few days after Christmas in July. I’ll be taking lots of pictures to show you all next week.
It’s been a rainy week start to the week but it’ll be ending today and it looks like I’ll be outside cutting the grass once again. All this rain has made the grass grow for sure.
DS#4 called the other day to say the heat has been taking it’s toll where they live. They have been in the triple digits there. He wound up in the emergency room with a kidney stone, possibly from not drinking enough water in the heat. He was dehydrated too. Thankfully it passed and he’s back to normal now. Just a reminder to all to all to drink plenty of liquids and stay hydrated.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!

Keep cool today and think Christmas !
This makes sense that today is Christmas in July. I heard an advertisement for JC Penny and they were mentioning Black Friday. Must be doing some sort of special sale holiday themed for today's "holiday."
Glad to hear DDS#4 made a recovery and is back to normal. I think it is hard for places that aren't use to extreme heat to prepare themselves for it. I know everyone who works outside here carries a lot of water (you can see their big thermoses and even ice coolers) in the back of their trucks, etc. We got a roof on at our other house this past week and the roofers only worked a few hours a day because of the heat, starting at 6 a.m. (by law they can during the hot summer months). I know even working inside I try to keep myself super hydrated.

Dang! My favorite holiday and darn if I didn't miss it! (*smile*) You've a great point about this being a good time to start planning gift-giving.
So relieved to learn your son wasn't more seriously impacted by the stone and dehydration! That's an ugly, sneaky thing. They used to tell the landscapers at my former workplace, by the time they feel thirsty it's already too late.
Yikes a kidney stone. Those are very painful. I can't even begin to think towards Christmas yet!!
