ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is National Sugar Cookie Day which is a good opportunity to satisfy your sweet tooth. They are popular with the young and the old and usually don’t last long around the house.
Traditional sugar cookie recipes call for just six ingredients: sugar, flour, butter, eggs, vanilla and baking powder. You can use cookie cutters to create shaped sugar cookies and top them with frosting or sprinkles or even make cookie sandwiches with two cookies and fillings like marshmallow, melted chocolate or jam in the middle.
It’s pretty easy to see how Sugar cookies came to get their own special day. Sugar cookies are right up there with chocolate chip cookies as America’s favorite cookie.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Cookies are made of butter and love.
Proverb
Cut out cookies are more popular here during the holidays that most any other time, but I did see some at the store the other day that were in flower shapes and decorated for summer. They called them special occasion cookies and would be a welcome addition at any party.
Our weekend was just beautiful here, but the say that today our sunny weather will include more humidity which always makes it seem hotter than it really is. I’ll probably close up the windows and turn the air conditioning back on.
Today I’m going to start putting away the 4th of July decorations and do a little cleaning at the same time. I have several things I like to get out for summer and one of them is sunflowers. They can stay out through the fall too. Time just keeps moving along.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Think what a better world it would be if we all - the whole world - had cookies and milk about three o’clock every afternoon and then lay down with our blankies for a nap.
Robert Fulghum
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6143. for cookies, always a good snack or dessert
6144. for sunflowers, bright and cheery
6145. for another new week ahead
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
You can’t be a smart cookie if you have a crummy attitude.

I remember making so many sugar cookies growing up. So much fun cutting out the different shapes depending on what holiday we were celebrating and then decorating them too! We are having humidity here too since we are in the monsoon season. Got to say rather deal with the 3% humidity and the 110 temperature then the higher humidity and cooler temps. Hoping we do get some rain though because the whole state of Arizona is in a drought.

My favorite cookie!! But I am not going to buy any. Or I will eat them all! I am off to finish mowing the lawn today!
I like sugar cookies … but I LOVE-LOVE-LOVE the raw dough. My poor mom was reduced to making her cookies after I'd already gone to bed and to sleep.
High heat and humidity are a combination that I am not overly fond of Pam! Thankfully we don't get many of those over here! I love sugar cookies. Back home I used to buy big fluffy ones which had a dab of jam in the middle. They were so lovely. I miss them! xoxo
