ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is the Forth of July which is the birthday of our nation. It was on July 4th, 1776 that Continental Congress voted on and approved our Declaration of Independence.
For most of us it is a time for baseball, hot dogs and family picnics. Summer is full swing and life is good.
The forth of July is not complete without parades and fireworks. You should have your choice of several different locations on the Fourth or even the day before.
Happy Birthday America!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
My patriotic heart beats red, white and blue.

Much of my Fourth will probably be spent on the sunporch unless it gets too hot out there. It may be enclosed but it is not air conditioned. With the ability to open up windows there is usually a nice breeze and I have a box fan there to help it keep cool.
I’ll never forget the first time I actually saw fans used outside and that was at DS#2’s house when they lived down south. They even had ceiling fans on their porch. Believe me when I say it really helps. When we used to go camping we also used fans outside too. Not only to cool off but to keep the mosquitoes away. They didn’t come around so much when the air was moving. Of course we did what I call luxury camping anyway and always had electricity available.
I’ll be breaking out the George Foreman grill today and celebrate by having some grilled hot dogs. I made some macaroni salad to have with them too and I think I’ll stir up some baked beans too just because I love them.
I saw a recipe for a hot dog grill cheese that sounded pretty good to me so I thought I’d share that recipe today. It calls for the split top New England style buns, which I don’t have right now, but I’m looking forward to making them soon.
Hot Dog Grilled Cheese.
8 hot dogs, butterflied
2 tbsp. butter at room temperature
8 New England style hot dog buns, split top
16 slices American cheese
Heat a griddle or skillet over medium heat. Cook hot dogs until golden brown.
Butter the outside of the hot dog buns. Place 2 slices of American cheese inside each bun, then add cooked hot dog. Return to griddle and cook till the cheese is melted and buns are nicely toasted.
I won’t be going out to see any fireworks but I hear plenty of them going on right here in the neighbor hood.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday and a safe and happy 4th of July !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
May the sun in his course visit no land more free, more happy, more lovely, that this our own country.
Daniel Webster
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6128. for our country's birthday, a cause for celebration
6129. for hot dogs on the grill
6130. for freedoms that we enjoy every day
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

We have another heat advisory here today. Hope where ever you are, you are keeping cool !
We have a fan for the outside that sprays a cold mist, very refreshing with the hot weather. Sounds like you have a great 4th planned, Ma! Enjoy!

Somewhere I've a photo of my little granddaughter … much like your first image. And today, that little girl is 20 y/o! How my hubby would love this idea for preparing his hot dogs. Until I met him, I'd no idea how many varieties of 'dog' accompaniments there were!
So far the humidity's not terrible … certainly less brutal than Arizona's heat. Sounds like your place on the sun porch is perfect in the morning hours. Enjoy!
Happy Fourth of July. We had hot dogs with baked beans too plus other sides. 😀
