ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Pick Blueberries Day which celebrates the blueberry harvest that begins early to mid July. Blueberries are native to North American and are a delicious, nutritious and healthy treat. From a health standpoint, Blueberries contain the highest level of antioxidant of all fruits and vegetables. Medicinal benefits include improved memory and brain health, fights or helps to control alzheimer, certain cancers, promotes heart health and much more.
I picked my blueberries up at the grocery store, but no matter, it’s a day to pick blueberries.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
There is no love sincerer love than the love of food.
George Bernard Shaw
I just happen to have blueberries and limes in the fridge right now and I found a wonderful recipe to share today that uses both. I got a bag of limes because they were cheaper than lemons last time I went to the store and have been using them in a lot of different ways.
Blueberry Crumble
Filling:
4 c. blueberries
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1 lime, tested
Crumble:
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c.flour
1/2 c. oats
1/4 c. butter, softened
1 lime, tested
Combine the blueberries, sugar and zest of one lime. Pour into a 2 qt. casserole dish.
Combine the sugar with flour oats, butter and zest of lime. Mix until butter is incorporated and mixture becomes like crumbs.
Spread over blueberries, pressing until it becomes firm.
Bake at 375 for 35 minutes.
Serve with a spoonful of whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream. Enjoy !
Limeade is every bit as refreshing as lemonade is and I made a pitcher to enjoy yesterday. There are many ways to use limes.
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!

Blueberries are delicious by the handful for a snack!
That is an interesting recipe with the blueberries and lime. Bet it is tasty though. Son will sometimes cook with lime when he is grilling fish. Does add a different taste to the fish.

That photo of the limes and blueberries is visually so pleasant! I never considered swapping out limes for lemons -- but enjoy both very much. Thanks for the tip!
Blueberries and lime are a beautiful flavour combination Pam! We are picking ours also. We have some bushes in the garden. As a child we would pick the wild blueberries which grew all around us in abundance. We would fill several gallon icecream buckets every year with them and my mom would freeze them to treat us in the winter months. Blueberry pie is a favourite of mine! Thanks so much for all that you so generously share with us. You are such a treat! xoxo
