ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Build a Scarecrow Day. He will help to keep birds out of your garden. Although scarecrows are a big hit in decorating for fall and and associated with harvest scenes, they are built to stand out in the garden to scare crows and other birds away. The crops are out growing in the field during the summer months so if you’re going to build a scarecrow for your garden, the time is now.
Sometimes the scarecrow does his job quite effectively. The birds think someone is in the garden and they stay away. Other times you see a bird resting upon a scarecrow and has not been fooled at all.
Scarecrows are relatively easy to build. All you need is some hay, a few articles of clothes, a stick and a hat. You can even personalize your scarecrow by going it by giving it clothing from your favor sports teams or school. Even if you don’t have a garden, scarecrows can be a festive decoration in our yards.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Sunday clears away the rust of the whole week.
Joseph Addison
Scarecrows are fun to decorate with and I usually put a small one in a pot I keep on the porch. He’s not scary at all but lots of fun. He’s got a cheerful smile to welcome any visitors.
It’s been a long time since I’ve had a garden, but there are plenty of birds around here. I love to watch them and my little scarecrow does nothing to deter them at all.
It’s to be another very hot day here and it’s also my day to go to church. I debated even leaving the house at all, but I’ll be off as usual later on this morning. The church is air conditioned and will be comfortable enough after all.
Our electricity went off for several hours yesterday evening and the house really started to heat up before it came back on. Hopefully that will not happen again today.
I’ve found that if you take a little water in a mister bottle, it’s a quick and easy way to cool off and have put one in my car. Even though it is air conditioned, it takes awhile to cool off.
Keep cool and refreshed and try enjoy this hot summer day!
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
As each day comes to us refreshed and anew, so does my gratitude renew itself daily. The breaking of the sun over the horizon is my grateful heart dawning upon a blessed world.
Terri Guillemets
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6119. for scarecrows, both useful and decorative
6120. for a cooling mist of water to cool off
6121. for ice cubes, iced tea, and lemonade

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Try to keep cool and relax !
I love your little scarecrow. Going to be 103 here today. I am off to work after having three days off. Keep cool. 🍦🍧😎⛄❄🌞😀
Scarecrows can be fun to look at no matter what time of year! That is a good idea about the spray water to refresh one during the hot weather. Try to keep as cool as you can!

Your lil' scarecrow is adorable! Just last week, not far from our home, I spotted an honest-to-goodness scarecrow in someone's back yard. Silly, perhaps, but that just made my day. I think it got up to 89 degrees yesterday, but the humidity was 83. Uncomfortable, indeed!
