ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Chocolate Day which is the perfect opportunity to eat your favorite chocolates in ample portions.
Chocolate comes from cocoa trees, their fruit produces cocoa seeds, which in turn produces cocoa powder and chocolate.
Chocolate is American’s favorite flavor. It’s the flavor of choice in candies, Ice Cream, cakes, breakfast cereal, toppings and a whole host of desserts. Unequaled in popularity, it deserves a day in it’s honor.
Happy Chocolate Day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Anything is good if it’s made of chocolate.
Jo Brand
I do love chocolate and usually have my daily fix in the form of piece of chocolate candy or two. I especially love chocolate that has nuts in it and my favorite nut is pecans.
The pictures today is what I happen to have on hand at the moment, but there is a wide variety to choose from and these are not my only favorites. They say chocolate is good for us and I take that to heart and always have a bite or two every day.
Thankfully we’ve had two cooler days in a row now. Yesterday and today we’re in the 70’s. It was wonderful to turn off the air conditioning and open up the windows and let some fresh air in. Tomorrow we’ll see low 80’s and that still good considering the 90 degree days we had. 80’s in July is normal for us .
I got the yard work done yesterday afternoon and today I’m going to think up something good to make for weekend dinners. I’ll cook today and heat up tomorrow.
Since it’s chocolate day I tried to find a good chocolate recipe to share and this is what I found.
Chocolate Filled Crescents
1 can refrigerator crescent dinner rolls
1/2 c. mini chocolate chips
Powdered sugar if desired
Heat oven to 350. Separate dough into 8 triangles
Place a tbsp. chocolate chips on wide end of each triangle. Roll up, starting at shortest side of triangle. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
A quick and easy decadent dessert !
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
All I really need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt.
Charles Schulz
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6137. for chocolate good and good for you
6138. for crescent rolls, easy peasy
6139. for cooler days, very pleasant
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
If you get melted chocolate all over your hands, you’re eating it too slowly.

Chocolate motto: Double the chocolate, double the SMILE.
Chocolate is a favorite of mine :) I like cooking one day and then having leftovers for several days :) Have a great Saturday!
betty
I’m not a choc-a-holic but I do like a good piece of fudge from time to time! I watched Remington Steele back long years ago and Laura in the show was a chock-a-holic and would draw that word out so long and meaningful it was hilarious!
I would love your weather but at least Texas is not triple digits this week end! I bet you are feeling good about getting that yard work done. I’m feeling a bit like a mouse or a gerbil in one of those spinning cages. I never seem to get to a stopping point. I’m seriously trying to figure out how I can slow my life down. Other than just leave town! Haha!
Happy Weekend!
I'm going to look for those Hershey Snack-Bits! Tom keeps H-kisses in the bowls, but I'm forever picking up bits of the aluminum foil … not sure it would be so good on the dogs' digestive systems. LOL!
I am a real chocolate lover as is Todd. We always have some form of it in the house and we really enjoy it! What would life be without a little bit of what brings you some tasty joy!! xoxo
