ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is I Forgot Day which by definition is not a day to remember. Some days are days to remember and cherish all of our lives. Others, like today, are ones to be forgotten.
Some people view today as an opportunity to express their regrets for forgetting something and to make amends to all the people you forgot to send a card to, or forgot to meet, or forgot to pick up…

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I’ve reached an age where my train of thought often leaves the station without me.
Maxine
I really try to not forget anything or any one but I’m human and I do forget. I keep a calendar to remind me of important dates but if I don’t look at the calendar, I will forget.
It’s easy to forget even what day it is when you live by yourself and no longer go out to work each day. Good thing that calendar is handy to keep me on track. Making lists of things I want
to remember is easy to do too and I keep a list on my phone, but again I have to remember to look at it. But writing things down does seem to help us remember.
It’s Monday and the beginning of a new week once again and I’ve got my list ready for what I’d like to get done this week. There are no birthdays, anniversaries or special days to remember except for the 4th of July this week and I’m sure the neighborhood fireworks will remind me of that. I’ve set the table for the 4th and that is what the pictures are of today. I have had this table cloth for ages and don’t remember at all where I got it. It will probably last forever as I only get it out for the 4th of July.
We continue to be unusually hot and the long range forecast says there will be rain coming our way too. Whatever the weather, I will try to remember to bring my own sunshine along.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Gratitude makes us feel bursting with delight, just to remember the gifts we have received. Thus we are doubly blessed when we received something — for the gift itself and later, in recall, for the miracle of having been given it.
M. J. Ryan
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6122. for calendars and lists that keep me on track
6123. for paper and pens to write reminders with
6124. for my phone, which has my notes and calendar readily available
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Better by far that you should forget and smile than that you should remember and be sad.
Christina Rossetti
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

I may forget the things that made me sad, but will never forget the things that made me glad.
What a pretty table setting! So festive for the upcoming 4th. Not a lot of fireworks yet in the neighborhood but I would imagine that will change as we get closer to the 4th.
I am grateful for paper and pen; I need to keep lists these days of things I don't want to forget and even then sometimes I do forget things. I think sometimes our minds just need to be decluttered like our houses and other things do, LOL :)

I’m right there with you on forgetting! I do the same thing with my calendar! My family knows that if I write it on the calendar it’s as good as done! I love your table setting! I’ve had the dining room table set with a patriotic theme since last month. I had one dinner party and now on Thursday the quads will be here for a total of four meals plus pizza in the den on Friday night. So the table will be getting some use before I take all the red, white and blue down and pack it away and bring out the sunflowers! I get so excited about fall that I feel foolish but I can’t help it. Decorating with the sunflowers gives me a jump start!
Triple digits here with high humidity and no rain in sight! I saw a cartoon on Facebook.....it was supposedly of someone in heaven asking God what he was cooking. He replied, “Texas!” It does seem that way!
I put the flags out in the front yard this morning. I rely on the calendar and Facebook to remind me of important dates. And I have lists on white boards, paper and my tablet. We'll be able to see the fireworks at the water park from our driveway and all the neighbors will have bought fireworks too. Happy Monday. 😀
Your tablecloth is wonderful, Ma! I've not seen one like it before.
Ya, since retiring I'm sometimes at a loss to figure what day of the week it is. My mother once clerked for the County and told the story of 'poor Kay Loft' who'd phone their office every so often to ask, "What day is this?" Now that doesn't seem particularly amusing....
