ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Sunglasses day which is a shady day for your eyes. Summer is in full swing and the sun is high in the sky. A pair of UV protection sunglasses is definitely in order.
Opticians tell us that sunglasses with UV protection will help to avoid cataracts. They also report that UV rays can be even stronger in winter, as the sun’s rays hit you on the way down and it’s reflected back up from the snow.
Sunglasses are possibly the most important fashion accessory of summer. It might be the day to pick up a new pair of shades at your local sunglasses store.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Anything under the sun is beautiful if you have the vision it is the seeing of the thing that makes it so.
Charles Webster Hawthorne
I used to have sunglasses with transitional lenses that changed color with the amount of light that they were exposed to. I don’t have those any longer so when I’m going to be out in the sun I always try to wear a hat to shade my eyes. I do have the beginnings of cataracts and the sun really does make a big difference. There have been times I’ve almost been blinded by the sun, so I’ve learned to take precautions. I do love the sun, but my eyes prefer the shade.
Light colored hats reflect the heat from the sun. A 2 to 3 inch brim all around ensures coverage all around and protects better than a baseball cap.
Today’s pictures are of some of the family with their sunglasses on. Hopefully they are all UV protected.
We’ve gotten a little warmer each day this week and the humidity continues to rise. We’ll be experiencing a heat index which could reach over 100 degrees by the weekend. I’ll definitely be in the house keeping cool. Today and tomorrow are to remains in the 80’s so I’m hoping to get out and cut the grass. We are expecting rain today so it’ll probably be tomorrow
I hope every one remembers to drink a lot of water when it’s hot out. Even if you don’t feel thirsty, drink lots of fluids. It is very easy to dehydrate in the heat.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
To sit in the shade on a fine day and look upon verdure is the most perfect refreshment.
Jane Austin
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6107. For my straw hat to shade my eyes
6108. for plenty of cold water to drink, very refreshing
6109. for glasses, they help me see better
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.
Henry David Thoreau
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

Sunshine is my favorite fashion accessory!
I've never owned prescription sunglasses; in fact, I've two pair I keep 'forgetting' to put on. Not good, since I've begun growing little cataracts. At my last optician's appoint (January) she said they weren't big enough to worry about yet. Just drives me nuts when I think I see a black bug running across the floor … but of course, there's nothing there; just the silly floater. Because I love my visor caps, I'll try and do a better job of using PPE! Have a great day!
I have those glasses that change to sunglasses when outside. I need to remember to get a hat though for when out for long periods of time. All the people who work outside here wear hats, for good reason :) That is a high heat index for you guys, especially with the humidity. Always good advice to drink plenty of water too. Again, the outside workers here have big coolers, probably that hold 5 gallons of water, that they carry with them. Necessity in this heat!

Love all the sunglassy pics, MA. My husband wears sunglasses whenever he's outside and it's even halfway bright. His eye doctor told him to do that. I, on the other hand, hardly ever wear sunglasses. No particular reason, I guess, except I just don't like them. Lovingly, Andrea xoxo
Love all the photos of your family in the sunglasses Pam! I have never been able to wear them. I have a very tricky inner-ear and wearing sunglasses makes me feel sick. I do stay out of the sun as much as I can however. I have never been a real lover of sitting out in the sun! I much prefer the shade. We have been enjoying remarkably wonderful weather here these past weeks. Its gorgeous! xoxo
