ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Welcome June
The month of June is Aquarium Month, Candy Month, Dairy Month, Fight the Filthy Fly Month, National Adopt a Cat Month, National Fresh Fruit and Vegetables Month, Rose Month, and Turkey Lovers Month.
Today is National Donut Day. Whether it’s powered, jelly filled or frosted, this classic treat is always delicious
Donut Day began in 1938 to honor the Salvation Army Donut Lassies, women who served the treats to soldiers during World War I.
To celebrate National Donut Day pick up a freshly made donut or buy a box to share with friends and family.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
It is the month of June,
The month of leaves and roses,
When pleasant sights salute the eyes
And pleasant scents the noses.
Nathanial Parker Willis
It’s no secret that I always have a box of donuts on hand here at my house. I usually eat one or two every day. I have a sweet tooth and they hit the spot.
It’s hard to believe that half the year is gone already and we have only 6 months remaining of 2018. The time seems to go by in a flash and it’s time to make my Summer bucket list. I am happy to say that I completed every item on my Spring bucket list except for the Spring cleaning. That is still a work in progress.
My Summer bucket list:
Have a picnic
Take a road trip
Go to the beach
Watch the fireflies
Go to a Farmers Market
Watch the sunset
Porch sit
Make Lemonade
Eat fresh tomatoes and corn on the cob
It’s not a very long list but some of the things I want to do. I may add more later on, who knows. And I know I’ll be doing some of these things more than once for sure.
Today I’m going to spend some time on the sun porch painting, I’ve had many projects just waiting to be finished and it’s time I got some done.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Spring being a tough act to follow,
God created June.
Al Bernstein
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6029. for donuts, one of my favorite sweet treats
6030. for summer and all it’s glorious days to enjoy
6031. for lots to da, I’m never bored
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the
grass under trees on a summer’s day, listening to
the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds
float across the sky, is no means
a waste of time.
John Lubbock
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

It's also mine and hubby's birthday month... Lol...
Love your to do list!
You have a great day too! 😃
I need to make my bucket list!
I love the painting on slate! Did you do it? We are back home and it is going to be a hot weekend in Texas! 100 degrees today! I’ve bedn out cleaning up a bed in the backyard gardens before it gets too hot. So very much to do and before you know it we will be back down in the country! It’s hard work to keep up both places in the summer!
Back to your bucket list.....I love everything on it and may make a copy cat of myself!
Wishing you a good and productive weekend!
PS ......Louis Dean has a weakness for donuts, too! I find the evidence hidden away in the most unlikely places.....like empty donut boxes in the back corner of the boy bunk at the ranch.....and under his desk here at home......
Oh, I dare not tell Tom today's Donut Day! He and my son discovered a family owned and operated donut shop right down the road called, "Deaux Boys" ... isn't that cute? His favorite is the maple covered in bacon bits.
I just came over from another sweet blog (https://StacysFullCup.blogspot.com) where Stacy penned a summer "Possibilities List", as well. Because I need structure, I'm going to carve out some time this weekend and do the same as y'all.
Happy Friday!
Yum on Donut Day, but alas we are dieting, so we'll have to wait for next year :) I love your summer bucket list; all sound like fun and very manageable to accomplish!
betty
My mouth would love to eat a doughnut or two today, but my waistline is gonna have to pass. Darn it. Once upon a time, I could eat anything and never gain an ounce, but that fairy tale ended a long time ago. HA!
I have some frozen donuts so I shall pop one out to celebrate the day. I like your bucket list. I hope for a road trip soon.
