ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is National Yo Yo Day, which is an opportunity to dig out our old yo yo's and show off our talents.
Yo Yos are considered to be the second oldest toy in history and is both a popular and historic toy. They say that Presidents Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon were all fans of the yo yo and would often show off their skills in the White House.
It’s a day to celebrate and have some fun!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Life is like a Yo Yo…sometimes you’re up, sometimes you’re down, and sometime you just get all tangled up in the string.
Author Unknown
I’m not sure that I could find a yo yo here at my house anymore, but in days past they were a lot of fun. I remember playing with one when I was a child and then my own children played with them too and I’m pretty sure that some of the grandchildren have too.
Our temps here have been like a yo yo. They are bouncing back and forth and going up and down. Yesterday we were in the 60’s tomorrow we could be in the 80’s.
It’s no wonder that they say, Life is like a yo yo.
With the cooler weather, I decided to make a pot of soup this week and that is what you are seeing in the picture above. My chicken soup. This time I used bow tie pasta, but sometimes I use noodles or rice. It all depends what I have on hand.
I like to make soup in the crock pot because I can just put all the ingredients together and let it simmer away. For this soup, I added a large chicken breast, celery, carrots, onions, seasoning and a couple of bouillon cubes for flavor. I even added a few pieces of rosemary from my herb garden. I only have rosemary, sage, thyme and basil but those are my favorites and the ones I use most.
This evening I’m supposed to be going to an end of the year program for 3 of the grandchildren. They have been in gymnastics and it’s their chance to show off their skills. Hopefully I’ll get pictures to share. I’m pretty sure there will be lots of ups and downs going on there.
And lest I forget it’s a first birthday celebration for one of my great nephews today. How fast this year has flown. Happy Birthday little one!
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!

that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.

Happy Birthday to the lil one. 🎈🎂🎈
I liked to play with a yoyo from time to time when I was a young girl, but I wasn't very good with it. No "around the world" or "walking the dog" for me. I was lucky to keep it going up and down. :)
I need to plant some more rosemary. I'd had mine for quite a few years, and it had grown into a rather large bush. We had so much rain this year, its roots rotted. Time for a fresh start. Need more basil, too. The squirrels actually dug mine up and toted it away!
I bet that chicken soup was delicious! So simple to make too. Happy birthday to your great nephew. I too remember the fun of playing with a yo-yo. Good simple toys like that are so much fun to play with.
betty
Ohhhhh no! The horrors of trying again and again to make my yo-yo work … to no avail. Today they'd call it 'operator error.' Whatever, my self-esteem plummeted until I discovered jacks. LOL!
