ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Weed Your Garden Day which an opportunity to do just that…pull the weeds in your garden. Left unchecked, weeds will choke out many garden flowers and vegetables. The competition they give for sunlight, water and nutrients will cause your plants to be less productive.
A weed is any plant that is unwanted in your garden. It seems weeds grow more prolific than our garden flowers and vegetables. We do not want them in the garden and weeding can quickly become a daily chore.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
No garden is without its weeds.
Thomas Fuller
Wouldn’t it be great if we could sprinkle a little weed and feed on our gardens the way we do when fertilizing the grass. Weed and feed is a mixture that fertilizes the grass and gets rid of the weeds at the same time. But we can’t…weeding a garden takes a lot more work.
I no longer have a vegetable garden or flower beds to weed. Matter of fact the most of my lawn is made up of weeds. I don’t do much but mow them down. I’m just thankful that it is green.
I do love farmers markets where I can go to buy fresh produce without doing the work, but of course I pay for it too. What little bit I eat doesn’t cost that much and well worth it for me.
Here we are mid week and our weather is warming up once more with temps in the 80’s for the rest of the week. We have a chance of rain today, so tomorrow looks like the day for yard work.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
A well kept garden filled with flowers
Has no room left for weeds to share;
The mind keeps out unworthy thoughts
When loveliness is dwelling there.
Leona Bold Martin
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6065. for weeds, they do keep us busy
6066. for grass to cut, its green and growing
6067. for my morning cup of coffee always good
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Don’t water your weeds.
Old Proverb
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

Mother Nature is doing a good job of watering my weeds today. Ha !
I should say watering the grass...lol
I’m grateful weeds are green, too! Seems like I’ve pulled weeds and cut back overgrown stuff every single day since we got home! Oh, wait! I really HAVE! This afternoon after 4:30 there will be shad in the front yard and I will do a final weed pulling frenzy out there before we leave on Thursday for the ranch. It’s important to pull up all the ‘trash trees’ before they root so well you must dig them up! Enjoy that beautiful weather of yours! Rain is in our forecast for Sunday! Free water!
I like weeds to grow until the grass starts growing and then it is time to get rid of the weeds indeed. We just have a small patch of green grass in the backyard, none in the front, so not much maintenance needed here on it.
betty
Because I know NOTHING about flowers I'm not (too) ashamed to wonder … "Whoever got to decide what's a weed?" If you've not seen it already, I highly recommend what Sean Dietrich wrote about weeds … dandelions, in particular. http://seandietrich.com/pretty-is/
Happy Wednesday!
I used my weed eater today in what used to be our garden area. And I didn't even know I was celebrating a special day!!
