ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National Iced Tea. With the official start to summer just a few days away, the time is perfect to enjoy a glass of refreshing, iced tea. We can have it plain, add a little lemon or sweeten it with sugar. Iced Tea is a favorite summer cooler of millions of Americans and best of all tea is good for your health.
Happy Iced Tea Day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Come sit on the porch with me. The drinks are cold and the friendships free.
While my drink of choice these days is water, I do enjoy a glass of tea in the summer. It is very refreshing. I like to mix my tea with half cranberry juice too. Both are good for you !
I rarely drink carbonated beverages at all these days, but do like sweet tea, and lemonade. A mixture of the two is good too. And they are a whole lot less expensive to buy. I could make a whole pitcher full of tea for what it costs to buy a soda..
After what seemed like a very long winter, Spring has certainly flown by and summer will be officially be here soon. It already feels like it with some of the hot days we’ve had, but our Spring rains continue. At least the rain helps to clear the air a little and helps those with allergies to breathe better.
It looks as if I’ll be carrying my umbrella when I go off to church this morning but it is warmer and that makes a big difference. I’ll be thanking the good Lord for a wonderful week and saying prayers for all of you too. It’ll probably be a restful day here at my house…most of them usually are.
Sipping tea on the porch with a good book is a great way to spend an afternoon.
Time wasted sitting on the porch is time well wasted.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
If I could sit across the porch from God, I’d thank Him for lending me you.
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6056. for a day of rest
6057. for iced tea, good and good for you
6058. for a sun porch to enjoy
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
True luxury is being able to own your time - to be able to take a walk, sit on your porch, read the paper, not take the call, not be compelled by obligation.

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Happy Sunday to you!
I make a big pitcher of ice tea every single morning and drink the whole thing in a day in addition to several glasses of water and a half pot of coffee! I come from a long line of ‘heavy drinkers!’
Your Sunday sounds delightful!
My husband likes iced tea; I'm not a big fan of it. I've been enjoying water with lemon in it, very refreshing! Stopped at a hotel a few weeks ago to look at it and they had in their lobby a pitcher of cucumber water. That was interesting to try!
betty
We've discovered some wonderful gallon jugs of iced tea down here called Milo's. Tom likes his sweetened; mine "non" with a hint of lemon. Like you mentioned, I'm going to try mixing it with cranberry.
Early on, a grocery cashier told me to drink "tons" of tea … she claimed that's the best thing to beat the heat come July and August.
Already it's too warm to spend afternoons on our sun porch, but I hope you're able to do so a while longer!
