ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is National Pink Day, a day where everything should be basking in pink splendor. Its a day especially for the ladies and pink is a girl’s favor color but guys can participate too and display a dash of pink.
Wear pink today and show off everything you have that’s pink from clothing, shoes and other possessions. Be creative and use food coloring to make pink meals. Pink frosting on a cake or cookies will be a big hit today.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Pink is a magical color.
Constance Fuller McIntyre
I searched through my pictures to find anything I could today with the color pink in it and although I did find several I’m sharing just a few. As you can see in the picture above, guys can look good in a pink shirt too. I do own a pink shirt or two myself.
We used to have a bakery here that specialized in pink cookies and everyone loved them. It’s been closed for several years but our High School has started promoting pink cookies and usually have a pink cookie sale every year. I’m not sure if they are the same cookie but they are very similar and are delicious.
Pink Cookie Recipe
1/2 c butter
1/2 c. Crisco
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp baking soda
3 tbsp. sour cream
3 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
Mix butter, Crisco and sugar till creamy. Add eggs one at a time. In a operate bow, mix baking soda and sour cream until soda is dissolved. Add to butter mixture.
In a separate bowl, sift flour and salt together. Add to wet batter and mix well. Dough will be sticky, but add more flour until it can be rolled 1/4 inch thick. Cut with cookies cutters and bake at 350 degrees until golden brown.
frosting:
1/2 c. butter
1 tsp vanilla
2 c. powdered sugar
pinch of salt
Red food coloring
Cream together butter and vanilla. Beat in powdered sugar and pinch of salt. Add cream and beat at medium speed for a minute or two until fluffy
Add food coloring one drop at a time and beat until you see pink.
The color pink is a happy color and so I’ll be wearing my pink today. It’s going to be cloudy and raining again today and sometimes happy colors can make a difference. I need all the help I can get.
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!

ADVICE FOR TODAY
I believe in pink, I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is a another day and I believe in miracles.

Alas, I don't think I own anything pink … unless you count the toes of one of the pairs of socklets! 'Your' pink cookies sound similar to something that was a local legend in Abilene: Mack Eplen's pink cookies. Thankfully, after Mack's restaurants and drive-ins closed, someone resurrected the recipe.
A precious Little One with the gift of dandelions! Life doesn't get much better than that!! Lovingly, Andrea xoxo
You look amazing in pink. I have a younger brother who used to always wear a pink shirt. He was the human resource manager of a large plant. My kids nicknamed him "uncle Pinky". He doesn't wear pink that much anymore but they still call him Uncle Pinky!
Love your Pinks Pam! Especially the last one with you in it. You look so happy! Pink was always my favourite colour and was one of the colours my oldest daughter chose for her wedding a few years back. She did pink and black and it worked beautifully! Love and hugs! xoxo
