ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Thesaurus Day! Peter Mark Roget, the author of Roget’s Thesaurus, was born on this day in 1779. In 1840, Roget retired from a successful career in medicine and spent the rest of his life working on Roget’s Thesaurus of English Words and Phrases. He published his dictionary of synonyms in 1852. Since then, it has never been out of print!
Roget’s original treasure trove of information included 15,000 words organized into six primary categories: existence, relation, quantity, number, and time. Today the book boasts over 230,000 words, but it is still organized by ideas and concepts as opposed to alphabetically.
Pull out your thesaurus, use some new words, and stretch your vocabulary in honor of Thesaurus Day!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Be careful of the words you say,
Keep them short and sweet.
You never know, from day to day,
Which ones you'll have to eat.

I used to have a Thesaurus but now with my computer, it went by the wayside same as did my set of encyclopedias . I can easily find a word I’m looking for on the internet. Roget dot org will easily answer any query you might have. Words have energy and power with the ability to help, to heal, to hinder, to hurt, to harm, to humiliate and to humble. One thing is for sure, speaking negatively could hurt you and speaking positively never will, so why not go with the positive.
As it’s to be a much warmer day here, I’m headed out to do some shopping and run some errands. After being house bound for so long, it’s going to feel good to get out and about. I got some much needed things done at home, but all work and no play makes one dull they say.
A trip to the store may not sound very exciting, but then I do live a simple life and it doesn’t take much to make me happy. I don’t have to travel very far at all to find what I need and that is a blessing…I don’t spend much on gas either.
Today’s pictures are of a little outing we took a few years ago at the lake on a party sunny cold winter day. There is beauty to be found in every day.
I hope you all have a GREAT day. Happy Thursday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s National Gourmet Coffee Day. The best part of waking up is… sipping that first mug of coffee and actually waking up once the caffeine works its way through your system. Celebrate the simple bean that keeps us all awake and functioning with a cup of hot, fresh coffee.
Regular coffee is fine but gourmet coffee is fantastic and do not forget the flavored gourmet coffee. There is definitely something for everyones taste.
The best coffees are made from 100% Arabica beans. A blend made from only Arabica beans is the first step to improving the taste of your coffee. To make your own gourmet flavored coffee take some cinnamon sugar and sprinkle to taste in a cup of coffee. I also add different flavored extracts like coconut and vanilla to my coffee. Just a few drops will do.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Good words are worth much, and cost little.
George Herbert
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
5632. for words, very powerful
5633. for coffee, vanilla flavored is good
5634. for a little outing, it’s needed
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Kind words are a creative force, a power that concurs in the building up of all that is good, and energy that showers blessings upon the world.
Lawrence G. Lovasik
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Wonderful images today!
I wouldn't call myself a gourmet, but I sure love my coffee! Far too scotch to patronize Starbucks ... I, too, use vanilla extract to 'liven' my coffee now and then. Coconut extract sounds yummy, too.
Its kind of sad in a way that we don't need encycopedias, etc. today. I loved ours when I was a child, but you are right, we can find everything much easier and in a manner of seconds now with the use of the internet. I use the thesaurus and online dictionary all the time! Love your thought for the day. Silence is golden! You can't take back words once they are out there! Better to say nothing than to just run off at the mouth! Love all that you share! God bless! xoxo
