ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Happy Birthday to you♥
Today is also Step in a Puddle and Splash Your Friends Day which is undoubtedly a day just for mischievous fun. After all, any kid knows that splashing and jumping into puddles is fun. And, when that results in splashing a friend, your joy is complete.
It’s unknown just why this holiday is observed in January. In mid January, many puddles are frozen! I’m just reporting and describing the day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Every path has its puddle.
Proverb
This granddaughters birthday is a very long distance one. As usual a card went out in the mail full of love and wishes for a very happy birthday. I rarely get to see her at all as she lives so far away. The pictures today are of her and her brother when visiting their dad this past summer.
Truthfully, there are a lot of puddles around here right now. Our January thaw has caused a lot of melting, but it’s still very cold at night and then they freeze. My driveway was a skating rink when I made the trek to the mailbox yesterday morning. We’ll be warmer yet thru Friday and then the weather is to take a turn back into the deep freeze. It’ll be back to the teens and single digits with a wintry mix coming our way causing even more layers of ice. BrrrChill!
My favorite kind of puddles these days are what they call sun puddles. A bright, warm spot on the floor or other surface created by the sun streaming through a window. I love to find a warm spot where the sun is shinning and just soak up some sun.
Take good care and be safe and if you live in northern Ohio, watch out for those remaining patches ice.
I hope you all have a GREAT day. Happy Thursday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
Today is National Milk Day which celebrates the first day milk arrived by delivery in sterilized glass bottles in 1878. Milk is used to create a wide variety of other dairy products, like cheese, yogurt, sour cream, butter, and ice cream. So let's make a toast to this wonderful food, and be sure to thank the dairy farmers who produce it!
After all, milk is a true superfood that contains a whole variety of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients that your body needs. Milk is a great source of protein, too
I use milk to make a variety of things from casseroles to puddings and I like to drink milk and put it on my cereal for breakfast. I tried to find a new to me recipe using milk in honor of this
day and this is what I found. A warm vanilla spice milk to ward off the cold
Warm Vanilla Spiced Milk
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon honey
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
ground cinnamon, to taste
Bring milk and honey to a simmer in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the honey is dissolved. Stir in vanilla extract and pumpkin pie spice. Pour into a cup and sprinkle with cinnamon, to taste.

COUNTING MY GIFTS
You are never too old for red boots or jumping in puddles.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
5611. for our Pretty Lady, it’s her birthday today
5612. for puddles, the snow is melting
5613. for milk, good and good for you
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Life is a beautiful journey regardless of its occasional hurdles and puddles. The key is to focus your frequent thoughts on your blessings, opportunities, and possibilities over your adversities.

Happy Birthday to your Pretty Lady! ... Pretty, indeed!
THIS recipe has me sitting up a little straighter. Growing up, whenever I'd have a bad day or was feeling poorly, my mother would head for the stove to make my favorite delicacy - honey milk. I'm pretty sure no written instructions exist (and I don't recall the pumpkin spice) but darn I miss that slice of my childhood.
It's nearly midnight here in Texas and I think it's the first time I have visited you this late in the day! We are in the country and my normal routine is not in play. It's cold here tonight. Not cold like YOUR cold but cold for Texas! In the 20's which is EXTREME for us. The camper is shaking with the high winds blowing now and they have been blowing all day long. Tomorrow will be a bit warmer and not as windy.
That Warm Vanilla Spice Milk sounds like just the ticket for cold winter nights right before bed. We had warmed spiced mulled wine earlier tonight.
I have a granddaughter who lives in Puerto Rico. She's here now since they were rescued off the island after going throught the horrible hurricane Maria. They return to PR later this month and I am so going to miss her. She's only 7. Praise God for Facetime and phone calls and Marco Polo....a video app you can record and send. SO nice to see their faces and hear their voices.
Okay...going to bed now and hope to visit you in the morning.
