ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is National Hugging Day which is an opportunity to give and to receive. Give a hug, and you receive one in return.
Hugs are love, therapeutic and caring. Hugs are celebratory. Hugs make you feel good inside. A Hug is a way to say everything will be okay.
Whether you prefer Bear Hugs, Heart to Heart Hugs, Cheek Hugs, or Side Hugs, celebrate today by giving hugs to family, friends and loved ones. You’ll love the warm feeling you get.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
You can't wrap love in a box, but you can wrap a person in a hug.

I love getting and giving hugs and its been proven that they are good for you. A hug can lower blood pressure, trigger the release of healthy hormones like Oxytocin and relieve stress. They say it’s recommended that a we get a minimum of 4 to 6 hugs per day for our emotional and physiological well being, but more is always better.
Due to the fact that I live alone, I’m sadly lacking where it comes to hugs a day but I do try to make up for it when I get the chance .
We are to have a warmer day with temps close to 50 but rain is to move in later on. The snow and ice are melting and hopefully will be gone before we get more. Todays pictures were taken on Friday when we still had lots on the ground. On the bright side I noticed buds on the tree branches.
(((Big Hugs from me to you )))
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s New England Clam Chowder Day. There are many different varieties of clam chowder but New England clam chowder is made with milk or cream and the use of tomatoes is frowned upon.
The following recipe is a very simple soup to prepare and while some recipes call for fresh clams this one is made with canned clams.
Easy Clam Chowder
4 slices bacon, diced
2 tbsp. butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 onion diced
1/2 tsp. thyme
3 tbsp. flour
1 cup milk
1 c. vegetable stock
2 cans, 6.5 oz size, chopped clams, juices reserved
1 bay leaf
2 potatoes, peeled and diced
1 c. half and half creamer
salt and pepper to taste
2 tbsp. chopped fresh parsley
Heat a large stockpot over medium high heat. Add bacon and cook till browned and crispy, about 8 minutes. Transfer bacon to paper towel lined plate, reserving 1 tbsp. of drippings, set aside.
Melt butter in stockpot. Add garlic and onion and cook stirring frequently, until onions have been translucent, about 3 minutes. Still in thyme until fragrant about 1 minute.
Whisk in flour until lightly browned, about 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk, vegetable stock, clam juice and bay leaf and cook whisking constantly until slightly thickened about 2 minutes. Stir in potatoes.
Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer till potatoes are tender, about 15 minutes.
Stir in half and half and cook until heated through, about 2 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste. If soup is too thick, add more half and half as needed.
Serve immediately garnished with bacon and parsley, if desired.
Can you see them? There on buds on those branches!

may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

There's something in a simple hug

How I used to LOVE New England clam chowder! But because I developed a shell-fish allergy a dozen years ago, I had to speed read past this recipe. (lol)
I've no doubt my parents loved me, but our family was largely undemonstrative. When, in my mid 20-'s, I finally discovered hugs well ... I became an addict. Here's a big {{{HUG}}} from Phoenix to you in Ohio!!!
