ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Happy Birthday ♥
Today is also Penguin Awareness Day which was created to celebrate everybody’s favourite zoo animal! Find out more about penguins, explore what others have to say about penguins, why not visit your local zoo to share the penguin love! You don’t have to wait until Penguin Awareness Day, because penguins can be loved all year long!
It's a time to wear black and white, penguin colors. However, wearing a
tuxedo in their honor is optional. It is also popular today to tell a penguin joke or two.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Celebrate the happiness that friends are always giving, make every day a holiday and celebrate just living!
Amanda Bradley
The very first picture today is of our Princes when she turned one and DS#6 turned 21. Birthday cards were sent in the mail to wish them both very happy birthdays. Both live in Ohio, but not close by so I sadly don’t expect to see either of them today.
They were born on the same day 20 years apart. DS#6 was a very proud uncle and still is. I also found the picture above of DS#6’s birthday last year. And below you’ll see some of our Princess too.
We’ve got another warmer and partly sunny day today. A good day for celebrating. The snow and ice continue to melt here. Tomorrow we may have some rain.
Whatever the weather we’ll make our own sunshine!
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!

WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s National Cheese Lover’s Day which celebrates a very popular food across the world. There are more than 900 cheese types classified by taste and texture. The average American consumes about 31 pounds of cheese each year.
In honor of the day I found this cheesy recipe to share.
Easy Bake Cheddar Biscuits
1 c. flour
2 tsp. Baking powder
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1/4 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. cold butter, cut up
1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
1/3 c. milk
1/2 c. chive and onion cream cheese spread, optional
Heat oven to 450 degrees
Mix first 5 ingredients in medium bowl. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in cheddar. Add milk. Stir until mixture forms soft dough.
Place on lightly floured surface and Knead 8 to 1o times or until smooth. Pat out dough into a 6 inch square. Cute into 9 squares and place 2 inches apart on baking sheet.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm with cream cheese spread or butter.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
5638. for our Princess and DS#6, it’s their birthday!
5639. for a 2nd January thaw
5640. for zoos, fun places to visit
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Who was the penguins favourite relative? Aunt Arctica! Happy Birthday to your son and granddaughter! I am sure they will love your cards. Oh I do love cheese. I think we may have some cheese and crackers tonight to celebrate cheese day! Hope your Saturday is happy and blessed? Xoxo
Happy birthday blessings to your son and Princess. Hers is such a beautiful smile!
We're big cheese lovers here, as well.
Have a great day!
I love seeing photos of your beautiful family and hearing you talk about them!
Okay, where do all the penguins kiddies like to swim? A: At the south pool. :)
Hey! For once, I'm in sync with your featured food of the day. I made a cheesecake for tonight's dessert.
Have a terrific weekend. Keep warm!
Happy Birthday! Happy Birthday!
(See...I said it twice for two people!)
Cheese...don't get me started! I love the cheese in England, their Cheddar isn't colored, it is more of a creamy color and it is so good! (Not knocking our cheese here by any means, give me cheese...PLEASE!)
Lovely biscuit recipe, I wonder if I could make it gluten free by using rice flour. I might try it! :-)
