41 DAYS UNTIL SPRING
Sunrise: 7:32 am

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Wave All Your Fingers at Your Neighbor Day which is the perfect opportunity to greet your neighbor with a big wave. But, to show your respect and appreciation on this very important day, you must wave with all of your fingers!
Without a doubt, this day was created to put a smile on your face, and upon your neighbors. It's intent is to be friendly and create better relations. Go out and greet everyone today with a big five fingers wave and don’t forget to include a big bright smile on your face!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The best way to knock the chip off your neighbor's shoulder is to pat him on the back.

It is a wonderful thing to have good neighbors especially when you live close together on a street like mine. Good neighbors watch out for each other and lend a hand when needed. I think that no matter who you live next door to it is always important to be nice. A little kindness goes along way to making a good neighbor.
For well over 20 years my middle sister was my neighbor and I certainly do miss her. She was the best neighbor I ever had. Hard to believe it’s been almost 2 months now since she’s been gone.
Yesterday I went to visit the community where I hope to make my new home. I saw very little of the people around there but was assured it was a good neighborhood. The homes are very close, so it really makes a difference. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
I also want to thank the the good Lord and all of you too for your many prayers. DS#1 was discharged yesterday from the hospital. He is not out of the woods yet, but this is a definite step forward ! He is in the picture directly above.
The rest of the pictures are a hodgepodge of the some of the family doings this past week.
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s National Fettuccine Alfredo Day. This is an easy dish to make and is a favorite here at my house
FETTUCCINI ALFREDO
1/2 cup real butter
1 pint heavy whipping cream
2/3 cup Parmesan or Romano cheese, freshly grated
1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 tablespoon fresh minced garlic
salt to taste
freshly ground black pepper
dash cayenne pepper
1 lb. fettuccine
fresh parsley, chopped
Prepare fettucine pasta as directed on box. Drain; melt a pat of butter on still hot pasta or stir in several drops of olive oil to keep pasta from sticking. Stir to coat evenly.
Meanwhile, in a saucepan over low to medium heat, melt the butter. Add cream, garlic or garlic powder, and cayenne.
Simmer 20 to 30 minutes over low heat, stirring constantly until mixture thickens.
Season with salt to taste.
Remove saucepan from stove and stir in cheese.
Serve over hot pasta. Sprinkle on freshly ground black pepper and/ or parsley.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Gratitude is something of which none of us can give too much. For on the smiles, the thanks we give, our little gestures of appreciation, our neighbors build their philosophy of life.
A. J. Cronin
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
4639. for DS#1’s release from the hospital
4640. for good neighbors, I do miss mine.
4641. for noodles, with cheese is good
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
No one is rich enough to do without a neighbor.
Danish Proverb
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

So true! With God, all things are possible! I live in a neighborhood where we all acknowledge each other. Occasionally we will stop for a conversation. But no close friendships. And I am okay with that. Glad you son got to go home!!!!!
Glad to hear DS#1 is discharged home from the hospital. Will continue to pray for a complete recovery! I wonder if in your new potential neighborhood not a lot of people were out and about because of the weather. Who knows what the ensuing months could bring with new friendships there :)

Oh, I hope being in his own home hastens your son's healing!
Like many working-class neighborhoods, we acknowledge one another but I'm unaware of any friendships which may have developed ... everyone's so busy-busy-busy. I do hope the residents in your new 'hood will be more outgoing once Spring arrives.
I am so glad your DS#1 is getting better. As for neighbors, whoever gets you will be lucky. Mine are mostly distant but very friendly when we pass each other. The best one and oldest friend and neighbor is one who runs off to Florida when the winter comes. Sissies!
