43 DAYS UNTIL SPRING
Sunrise: 7:35 am
Sunset: 5:50 pm
Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is National Weatherman's Day which honors weathermen, and woman who work hard to accurately predict the often fickle weather. Despite major technological advances and supercomputers, forecasting the weather is still a tricky, and ever changing business.
Knowing the weather is important in so many ways. It affects how we dress, where we go, and even if we go. Space launches are made or delayed depending upon the weather. And, knowing the weather can save lives. The most obvious example is knowing when and where hurricanes or tornados may hit.
According to the Air Force News, Weatherman's Day, commemorates the birth of John Jeffries, one of America's first weathermen. Jeffries was born on Feb 5, 1744. He kept weather records from 1774 to 1816.
If you see a weatherman today, give them your appreciation for a job well done.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
On cable TV they have a weather channel — 24 hours of weather. We had something like that where I grew up. We called it a window.
Dan Spencer
We certainly cannot complain about the weather here the last few days. It’s been cold but it’s warming up and the most wonderful thing is that the sun has been shinning a bit. What a wonderful feeling it is when the sky is blue and the sun is shinning!
The weather people have had a break from the doom and gloom of wintry stormy weather reports.
The house showing that happened on Friday turned out to be a two day event which continued on to Saturday afternoon. When I went to show the other side of the house on Friday, this is a duplex, the door was stuck and I couldn’t get in so the people were gracious enough to come back on Saturday. Thanks to DSIL and to a neice and her husband, I had no problems opening the door on Saturday. The house hunters seemed to like the place well enough and I am hopeful! Today there is a different reality doing a showing too. We’ll see ...
The pictures today are from one of my favorite times of year. I love the beautiful colors of the flowers!
As always Sunday is my day to rest and relax. Knowing that we are to be warmer for awhile makes me happy !
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!
PRAYER REQUEST
Please continue to keep DS#1 in your prayers. He now has hospital induced pneumonia common after surgery and they have started IV antibiotics.
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
Today is Super Bowl Sunday. Millions of people around the world hold or attend the Big Party at bars, party houses, and in their living rooms. Super Bowl Sunday is the second biggest snack day of the year. Second only to, you guessed it, New Years Eve.
Super Bowl Snack
1, 10 oz. pkg. oyster crackers
1/2 c. oil
1 tsp. dill weed
1 tsp. basil
1 pkg. Ranch style dressing mix
Pour crackers in glass casserole dish. Combine all ingredients and mix thoroughly. Pour oil mixture over crackers and toss until well coated. Microwave on high for 3 or 4 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes. Serve.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Whether the weather be fine,
Whether the weather be not,
Whether the weather be cold,
Whether the weather be hot,
We’ll weather the weather,
Whatever the whether,
Whether we like it or not

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
4633. for the weather people that help to keep us safe
4634. for snacks, I do love crunchy and salty
4635. for a door that now works the way it’s supposed to
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.

Hard to believe it is Super Bowl Sunday already. The season seemed to have flown by! Glad you were able to solve the problem so you could eventually have the showing. I know having a house up for sale can be taxing, trying to keep it up somewhat in case there is a showing, so I hope yours sells super quick now that you are getting people to come and view it.
betty
National Weatherman's Day? This reminds me of the decade I spent working for the CBS affiliate in Tampa/St. Pete. Leaving work each afternoon, it wasn't unusual to see Dick Fletcher standing just outside the back door ... cigarette in his hand... staring at the sky. We'd joke about his having all this high-tech/wiz-bang equipment in his office but at the end of the day, he'd invariably trust his instincts.
Oh, I showed DH this post and he's getting dressed to run to the store for some oyster crackers! We, too, are partial to crunchy and salty. (The crepes have been postponed for now.)
Prayers continuing for your DS #1!!!
Prayers for your son I hope he's feeling much better. I've been missing your post lately and hope to get caught up. My husband was in the hospital in December with what the doctor said was pneumonia after having home help for six weeks, he's doing much better. Take care. Jean
Cpngrats on the showing. Will continue to cross my fingers for a quick sale. I will pray for the son. Tell him coughing and deep breathing are his best friends! Have the super-bowl on as background noise. I'm not really a football fan!
