Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Umbrella Day which is in honor of one of the world's most invaluable inventions. On a rainy, day, it’s great that someone was smart enough to invent them. It's also increasingly popular to use umbrellas to shade ourselves from harmful UV radiation, and the heat of the sun.
Umbrellas come in all sorts of sizes, colors, shapes, and, designs. Businesses and organizations use them for advertising. The smallest umbrellas fit inside a purse or glove compartment. Golf umbrellas are popular sizes. Then, there are lawn and beach umbrellas.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Just let a smile be your umbrella. On a rainy, rainy day
So far this winter, we’ve probably had more rain than snow here. I’m not complaining because we don’t have to shovel rain and that makes me smile.
Smiles do mean a lot on a rainy gloomy day and brighten the world like sunshine for sure. When someone smiles at you, it's very hard not to smile back. Just try not smiling when that person smiles too. What an easy way to brighten someone's day!
Pictures today are of a few of my smiling grandchildren .
Don’t let a rainy day get you down. Keep smiling !
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s National Cream Cheese Brownie Day!
It’s hard resist the heavenly taste of a rich fudge brownie marbled with cream cheese. Its divine combination of sweet and tangy flavors will have you craving more in no time!
CREAM CHEESE BROWNIES
4 squares unsweetened chocolate
3/4 cup butter
2 1/2 cups sugar
5 eggs
1 1/4 cups flour
1 8 oz pkg cream cheese, softened
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 13 by 9 inch baking pan. Read through this recipe entirely before you begin, as you will need to divide ingredients into separate batters in order to create two layers.
Microwave together the chocolate and butter on high setting 2 minutes. Stir in 2 cups of the sugar and blend well. Stir in 4 eggs and 1 cup of flour. Spread this mixture in the greased pan.
Beat cream cheese, gradually adding remaining ingredients. Combine well.
Spoon second mixture over batter already in pan. Swirl together lightly stirring with knife to create a marble-like pattern. Bake in Preheated 350 degree oven for 40 minutes or until toothpick has grainy fudge bits but is not clean, like in a cake. Be careful not to over bake.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
For after all the best thing one can do when
it is raining, is to let it rain.
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
4645. for less snow to shovel
4646. for smiles that brighten my day
4647. for melt in your mouth brownies
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Such great smiles from your grandchildren! I always seem not to have an umbrella when I need one. Should keep one in the car.
Betty
Such a cute assortment of smiles today! Now, I want to sit right down with your grand-darling and share some of her graham crackers. :)
(I'm not a fan of rain, but keep umbrellas in the garage, in my desk drawer and another in my car, just in case!)
