33 DAYS UNTIL SPRING

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Susan B. Anthony Day, which honors one of the most important females in American history. Born on February 15, 1820, Susan B Anthony spent her life pushing women's right to vote and equal rights for women.
Susan B Anthony is the only woman to date, to have her picture on a U.S.coin or paper currency. It is on the silver dollar.
Take a minute today to give recognition and appreciation to Susan B Anthony and all other women of that time, who fought so hard for women's rights.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Sooner or later we all discover that the important moments in life are not the advertised ones, not the birthdays, the graduations, the weddings, not the great goals achieved. The real milestones are less prepossessing. They come to the door of memory.
Susan B. Anthony
It’s very hard to believe that there was really a time that women couldn’t vote. We take that for granted most of the time, but it was a hard won right that took many years to earn. It took a lot of courage for women like Susan Anthony to stand up for women at time when women had few rights at all.
I think everyone is equal and should have the same rights no matter what their gender or race might be and we should never take our right to vote for granted. Voting is right and a privilege that we shouldn’t forget to use.
The news this week is that house inspection went well here and I’m hopeful it won’t be long until everything is settled. An appraisal still has to be done before it’s finalized. If all goes well I’ll be looking at a closing date of March 23rd for the sale of the house. I’m getting very excited that soon I’ll be able to move.
My oldest son had a post op exam this week and was told he could go back to work and resume normal living. He will still be monitored for any change that might occur, but for now everything is fine.
Things are definitely looking up here and for that I’m very thankful.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
Today is National Gumdrop Day which honors the popular, gelatin based candy. Gumdrops have been a favorite candy for many decades. Nowadays, the Gummi candies which are the same gelatin base, are the most popular gumdrop type of sweet.
Easy Gumdrop Bars
1 pkg. yellow cake mix
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/4 cup milk
2 eggs
3 cups gumdrops, cut up
1/2 cup cream cheese frosting
Colored decorator sugar
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Generously grease 13 by 9 inch pan. In large bowl, combine cake mix, butter, milk and eggs; beat at low speed until combined. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed. Fold in gumdrops. Spread in greased pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Run knife around sides of pan to loosen. Cool 1 hour or until completely cooled. In small saucepan, heat frosting over low heat just until melted. Spoon frosting over cooled bars. Sprinkle with decorator sugar. Cut into bars.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Important moments dwell in memory.
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.

4661. for good news, things are looking up
4662. for gum drops, a very sweet treat
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY

Such exciting news about your upcoming move! At least getting a date, even if it has to be moved around a bit, is a step definitely in the right direction!
So glad for women like Susan B. Anthony who worked diligently to get women the ability to vote. It is certainly a privilege I don't take for granted and something I use every time the opportunity presents itself to get out and vote.
betty
Good news about your house inspection maybe it want be to long now before you will be moving to your new home. Wet and a little windy here this morning I noticed a tree in the yard behind us budding out it's beginning to look more like spring then winter. Take care. Jean
YAY!!! ... Both on the home inspection and your son's post-op results!
That quote by Susan B. Anthony really resonates. I've not been on Pinterest for a long time, but I want to add that quote on my board.
