ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

24 DAYS UNTIL SPRING
Sunrise: 7:08 am
Sunset: 6:14 pm
Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
It’s National Chocolate Covered Peanuts Day which celebrates a great way to add crunch to your chocolate. And, both chocolate and nuts are good for you. Dark chocolate is an antioxidant and most nuts are low in saturated fat and sodium, full of fiber, vitamin E, rich in omega 3 fatty acids, and phosphorus. People who eat nuts regularly can lower their LDL.
Although many brands of chocolate cover nuts are available to buy, it’s more fun and cheaper to make your own. All you need to do is to melt some chocolate in a pan, add in the peanuts and stir it all up. then allow the nuts to cool before eating. Just go nuts and enjoy the day!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
All I really need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt!
Charles Schulz
Usually when we have chocolate covered nuts here at my house it means there is a party going on. Whenever a holiday or special occasion comes along, they are a favorite treat.
Today there’s no really big cause for celebration, unless you want to count celebrating the sale of the house, which thankfully will all be said and done by this time next month.
My daughter and her hubby have been helping to clear out the garage and decide what needs keeping. And DS#5 is taking away things like old paint cans to the recycling center here. He is even taking the old tires as he has found a use for them.
Over the years, a lot has been stored there. Half of which I’m sure I don’t need. There are things like the mower, the hose and patio furniture and planters which I will keep and move to the new place. Thankfully my future home does have a storage shed attached to put it all in. There is no doubt about it though, I do still have way too much stuff!
Yesterday we were in the 70’s but today it has cooled down considerably. If we are lucky we may see 45 degrees which is still great for February weather. I’m not complaining and the good news is that the long range weather forecast remains unseasonably warm. High temps will remain in the 40’s and 50's for a few more days yet.
The tulips and daffodils are pushing up out of the ground with the warm weather and I got a couple of pictures to share with you all today. They seem to think it’s Spring!
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!

If you get melted chocolate all over your hands, you're eating it too slowly.

I bet the garage is harder to clear out than the house. So much stuff gets stacked there at times. Glad you have help with it!

Yes, I remember the rich goodness of clam chowder in the olden days (before my shellfish allergy kicked in). One of mother's favorite meals.
I never had occasion to try it, but do you remember the (seeming) big rivalry between that and Manhattan Chowder? Like Pepsi v. Coke. Crazy!
