26 DAYS UNTIL SPRING
Sunrise: 7:12 am
Sunset: 6:11 pm
Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Single Tasking Day which is the day to do just one thing at a time. Multitasking makes it hard for the brain to focus, predisposes us to error, and makes it harder to learn new information. Multitasking also causes projects to take longer to complete because we are constantly starting new and having to refocus. So take this day to concentrate and complete one task at a time and don't feel guilty about it.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Know what you want to do, hold the thought firmly, and do every day what should be done, and every sunset will see you that much nearer to your goal.
Elbert Hubbard
We all try to juggle a lot of balls every day, and it's easy to feel like everything gets 20% of your attention but nothing ever gets 100%. By experience, I’ve found that is when it's time to start giving your work your full focus doing one task at a time.
We get more done, one task at a time, than we could have even imagined when multitasking and feeling a sense of completion is extremely satisfying. Single tasking doesn’t mean we do less work, but rather we get more done. When we focus on one task at a time, we can knock those tasks out one by one.
It’s just as important to remember that we should take life one day at a time too. When we let the cares of yesterday and the worries of tomorrow clutter up our lives, we can’t enjoy the present day as much as we are supposed to. One day at a time, one task at a time makes life a whole lot more enjoyable.
The pictures today are of the red buds on the maple trees out front. They popped out this week with all the spring like weather we are having.
I hope you all have a GREAT day. Happy Thursday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s Banana Bread Day !
The addition of mashed, ripe bananas to a cake like batter is what gives banana bread its distinctive taste and moistness. I always have ripe bananas here at my house, so this is a treat I make often.
You get two fruits in one great tasting quick bread in this recipe.
Blueberry Banana Bread
2 cups Bisquick baking mix
3/4 cup quick cooking oats
2/3 cup sugar
1 cup mashed very ripe banana, about 2 medium
1/4 cup milk
2 eggs
1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour one loaf pan
Stir Bisquick, oats, sugar, bananas, milk and eggs in large bowl until moistened. Beat vigorously 30 seconds. Gently stir in blueberries. Pour into pan.
Bake 45 to 55 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes. Loosen loaf from sides of pan; remove from pan and place top side up on wire rack. Cool completely, about 2 hours, before slicing. Cut into slices to serve or you can wrap tightly and store at room temperature up to 4 days, or refrigerate up to 10 days.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Each day comes bearing its own gifts. Untie the ribbons.
Ruth Ann Schabacker
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
4684. for one day at a time and one task at a time
4685. for bananas, they are always on hand here
4686. for our daily bread
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
I don't care how much power, brilliance or energy you have, if you don't harness it and focus it on a specific target, and hold it there you're never going to accomplish as much as your ability warrants.
Zig Ziglar
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

How neat you could see this new year's bloom on your trees before you move, Ma :) I do admit I can find myself multitasking more than I should, but it does make sense to stick with one project and get it done rather than have too many things going at one time.
betty
I worry about all the trees and spring buds when we know that winter is not behind us yet!! I am a multi-tasker. And I don't get much done!!
How I'd love to stick your first paragraph under my boss's nose! :)
Long before he became President, one of Mr. Trump's pieces of advice has become my own practice in the workplace: When faced with a multitude of files (paperwork, etc.) put everything behind you (eg, your credenza) EXCEPT that which you're working on. If your eyes can't see something, you're not as likely to become distracted.
Happy Thursday!
