37 DAYS UNTIL SPRING
Sunrise: 7:27 am

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Don't Cry Over Spilled Milk Day which is in recognition that everyone spills a little milk now and then. It's a day to be optimistic, think positive, look on the bright side, and to find something good in everything that happens.
We all know the concept of the question: Is the glass half full or half empty? The pessimist sees it as half empty. The optimist sees it as half full. It's all an attitude towards life.
Celebrate today with an optimistic attitude and a smile on your face.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude. Don't complain.
Maya Angelou
We all do make mistakes, but that shouldn’t get us down. There are certainly plenty of times I’ve spilt the milk, but the best thing to do is clean up the mess and move on. Life is to short to cry over spilt milk. Mistakes are only reasons to learn so that we can do better next time.
It’s often when I get in a hurry and am rushed that mistakes happen. Just when I don’t have time for it, I find myself having to clean up messes I’ve made. Best just to take a deep breath and slow down.
That’s what I’ll be doing today - taking lots of deep breaths. The potential buyers of the house are having a home inspection done today. I’m hoping all goes well.
The daffodil pictures were taken at the outlet mall when we went shopping for Presidents Day sales last year. That’s just around the corner now. Nice to think it may not be long at all until we see some flowers blooming.
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s Peppermint Patty Day! A peppermint patty is a tasty confection made with a rich, creamy peppermint filling covered in semisweet chocolate. While the patties are a treat to eat all by themselves, I found this brownie recipe to share with you all today.
Peppermint Patty Brownies
1 cup butter
8 squares unsweetened chocolate
5 eggs
3 3/4 cups sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon almond extract
1 2/3 cups flour
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips, optional
24 small York Peppermint Patties
Preheat the oven to 425. Grease a 9 by 13 inch baking dish. Melt the butter and unsweetened chocolate in a pan over low heat, stirring often. Set aside.
In a mixing bowl beat the eggs, sugar, vanilla, salt and almond extract for 3 to 4 minutes. Add the melted chocolate mixture and flour. Mix until incorporated. Stir in the chocolate chips.
Spread half of the batter into the buttered pan. Unwrap your peppermint patties and line them up over the top of the bottom layer of batter. Cover the patties with the second half of the batter.
Bake at 425 for 22 minutes. Cool and then refrigerate at least 6 hours.
Enjoy!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
A moment of gratitude makes a difference in your attitude.
Bruce Wilkinson

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
A great attitude does much more than turn on the lights of our worlds; it seems to magically connect us to all sorts of serendipitous opportunities that were somehow absent before the change.
Earl Nightingale
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

I remember home inspections being both the seller and buyer. The buyer looks for everything wrong so they can get a lower price if possible. The seller is on pins and needles waiting to see what will be found. I hope yours goes well. The wee one is starting to transition to whole milk so I will imagine we will have some split milk as he continues to get use to his sippy cup.

Most of all, be thankful.
That is so true!
Good luck with the home inspection. x
How I remember my dad saying over and over (and over), "Haste makes waste." That never sunk in until I became an adult.
In my teen years the large York patties were my "go to" snack while at the movies. Come to think of it, I don't recall having had one since. Funny how our taste buds change, isn't it?
Good luck on the home inspection!
My grandkids laugh at expressions like "don't cry over spilled milk" They just don't get it!! I am a cup half empty person who is trying to see the cup as half full!! Sigh**
