35 DAYS UNTIL SPRING
Sunrise: 7:25 am

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Clean Out Your Computer Day which is a day to logically review, and delete old files and programs.
Most of us add programs and files to our computer with reckless abandon. After all, computers have huge storage capacity. Many of these files and programs are forgotten over time. Overtime they clog memory and cause confusion during retrieval and use of other files. And, some may slow down your computer.
So, get into the spirit of the day, and clean out the old computer.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I like my new telephone, my computer works just fine, my calculator is perfect, but Lord, I miss my mind!

I’m thankful for a computer that works. Thanks to DS#2 and #4 who worked on it when I visited this past Thanksgiving, it is now much faster than it was before. It is about 7 years old as I got it when I retired. It’s very hard to believe that come March, I’ll be retired 7 years.
That is old by today’s standards as now they say computers are obsolete after 3 years. Hopefully it’ll work a few more years, but if by chance you don’t get my email some day you’ll know it finally quit.
As usual this week I’ll continue to pack up here. The sale remains pending on the house. It’s only a matter of time until I make a move. Whether these potential buyers get their loan or not remains to be seen, but it will eventually sell and then I’ll get to move. Hopefully sooner than later.
The weather continues its cycle with temps going up and down. A few colder days and then warmer days in the 50’s. Looking at the long range forecast for now, today is the only chance we have for snow.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s National Tortellini Day!
Tortellini is a signature dish from the Italian region of Bologna. The most common fillings for tortellini are ham, white meat, and Parmesan cheese.
CHICKEN TORTELLINI SOUP
9 oz. package frozen cut broccoli, thawed
6 cups water
3 cans condensed chicken broth
1 can cream of chicken soup
2 cups boneless, skinless, split chicken breasts cubed and soaked in broth or water
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup grated carrots
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon basil leaves
1/2 teaspoon oregano leaves
12 oz. package cheese tortellini, fresh or frozen
grated Parmesan cheese, optional
In a large saucepan or soup pot, combine water, chicken broth, cream of chicken soup, soaked chicken, onions, carrots, basil and oregano. Bring to a boil; add tortellini. Simmer uncovered for 30 minutes.
Add broccoli. Simmer an additional 15 minutes or until broccoli is tender.
Serve garnished with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
Makes 10 1 1/2 cup servings.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Man is still the most extraordinary computer of all.

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

It is so true, by the time you have saved photos, emails, pinterest and facebook stuff it can get really clogged up. Book stuff is the worst for me, so I try to get weeding-out pretty often. Sometimes I think why in the world did I save this. I guess this applies to lots of things, for instance my basement.
It looks like you are looking forward to your move. Let's hope the loan goes through and you will be all settled in time to plant a flower in your new home. Happy Monday morning all.
That chicken tortellini soup looks delicious!! I think we'll be making that soon. I hope your potential buyers do get their loan so you can tie up this season of your life and move on to the next one. I need to clean up my computer; I have a lot of files on it I don't need, duplicate pictures, etc. I bet it will run more efficientyl if I do so!
betty
Wish I'd heeded your advice last year, before our computer passed away. I've a co-worker who wants us to bring him the hard drive; he believes he can retrieve most - if not all - of its contents. Mostly, I'm upset at not being able to save all my pictures. Hard lesson.
Crossing fingers your potential buyers' loan goes through in short order!
I am loving the looks of that soup! My computer really needs the files and pictures cleaned up Maybe I'll work on a few tonight. I almost have Darian's room all packed. Then I want to get it painted so it will be a surprise for him when he comes home. I'm hoping the loan goes through for your buyer!
