Today is Forget Me Not Day which is a day to remember family, friends, and loved ones.
People use this day to get in touch with family, friends and loved ones, especially those who we haven't seen in a while. This day is intended to remember the living. But, some people have used it to memorialize a loved one who is no longer with us.
The Forget Me Not is a beautiful blue blooming flower which is often used a symbol for remembrance. Today is a great day for remembering friends and slowing down to recognize the little things in life, like Forget Me Nots.

We are so often caught up in our destination that we forget to appreciate the journey, especially the goodness of the people we meet on the way. Appreciation is a wonderful feeling, don't overlook it.

If you’re reading this post today, you’ll know that I didn’t forget you. I try to stay in touch with my family and friends daily. It’s important to always let those you love know just how important they are to you.
November is a very bittersweet month for me. I’m happy because we’ll soon have a family gathering to celebrate Thanksgiving, but also sad when I think about loved ones that aren’t with us any more. My husband died in November and I lost a sweet little grandson in November too. I will never forget them and always remember the love and joy they brought into my life.
This week is now more than halfway over and will soon be winding down. I’m thankful for what I’ve been able to accomplish but still have so much to do. Taking time out of these busy days to write down some thoughts to share with all of you certainly makes the days a little brighter for me and hopefully they bring a smile your way too.

WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
Today is National Vanilla Cupcake Day which is a time for chocoholics to give something else a try! If you like the taste of Twinkies, try making your own vanilla cupcakes at home.
Easy French Vanilla Cupcakes
1 box French vanilla cake mix
3 eggs
1 cup water
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup sour cream
Preheat oven to 350 degrees . Place cupcake liners in muffin pans.
Beat the eggs until uniform in color. Beat in the water and set aside.
Empty the cake mix into a large mixing bowl. On low speed, add the vegetable oil and egg mixture. Beat at low speed until the ingredients are just moistened.
With the mixer running, slowly add the sour cream and mix until combined. Increase mixer speed to medium and beat for 2 minutes or until creamy.
Divide the batter between the cupcake liners. Place the pan in the oven and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until the cupcakes test done in the middle. Stick a toothpick in the middle and if it comes out dry or with moist crumbs attached then it is done Remove the cupcakes from the oven and let cool in the pan for 5 minutes then remove to a wire rack to cool completely. When cool, frost as desired.

December is our bittersweet month. it is good to have a day to remember our family and friends and to make contact with those we can.

It has cool down into the seventies here this week makes me want to work outside. I'm looking forward to having part of my family this Thanksgiving which hasn't been to often. Take care. Jean
My bittersweet month is July! And October! I love this month. It is good to have time with our families. I hope you will get to enjoy some of yours. And the forget-me-not flower is so beautiful, isn't it?
If you go to the bottom of my blog, you will see a photo of Forget Me Nots! The photo is from England, I have never seen them blooming in Georgia!
November is the month of my son's birth, he is my only child, so you know November is very special for me! xx
