Today is Freedom of Information Day which celebrates and recognizes a valuable concept in American rights.
March 16th is the birth date of James Madison, the 4th president of the United States of America. James Madison is recognized as the Father of the Constitution, and the chief author of the Bill of Rights. Freedom of information and individual rights was very important to James Madison.
The Freedom of Information Act was passed into law in 1966. It opened up a wealth of information to American citizens.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Everybody gets so much information all day long that they lose their common sense.
Gertrude Stein
We all like to be informed and like to keep up to date with the latest happenings around us. I guess that is why the news is so popular. I like to read a lot and that is how I’ve gained a lot of information. It’s good to live in a country where so much is available to us. Not everyone is so blessed.
There are times however, when I’m on information overload. Too much information can tend to boggle my mind. Truly it doesn’t take much to do that some days.
The important thing is not to confuse fact from fiction. I so remember one of my son’s telling me I had to use a certain laundry detergent because he’d seen a commercial saying it was the best. He was only about 5 years old at the time and it surprised me that he even cared, apparently the commercial he saw really impressed him. Believe me when I say that I carefully explained to all my children that everything they saw on TV was not true.
Today they say we may get some more rain here. It’s going to be a day to make our own sunshine !
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
One of the great joys of life is creativity. Information goes in, gets shuffled about, and comes out in new and interesting ways.
Peter McWilliams
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3682. for all the news that keeps me informed
3683. for great men like James Madison

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
As a general rule, the most successful man in life is the man who has the best information.
Benjamin Disraeli
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

So true about having a lot of information but we do need to discern what is fact and what is fiction indeed. I had to laugh about your then young son saying to use that particular laundry detergent. One day when son was about 10 or 11 years old he was home sick from school. He was watching TV and came to me and said "we got to buy this shrink wrap they are advertising on TV". He had a pad and a pencil and had written down the number. I had to explain perhaps it really didn't live up to what they were advertising about it :)
betty
I'm glad we have Freedom of Information in our country!
