82 DAYS UNTIL SUMMER

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Take a Walk in the Park Day. It’s an opportunity for exercise and relaxation. Are you stressed out? A walk in the park is just what the doctor ordered. Its calming and therapeutic. Taken after a busy work day, it helps clear your mind and reenergize you. Or, take the walk during lunch and you will find the afternoon of work goes by quicker and easier.
A walk in the park will likely be the most enjoyable part of your day. However, make sure to do so with a clear mind and with your eyes open. In addition to avoiding a fall, open eyes will allow you to take in the beauty of nature's wonders: flowers, and trees, birds, and wildlife.
It’s suggested that we take a walk in the park with a friend. It will prove far more enjoyable if we have company on your walk.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
One step at a time is good walking.
Chinese Proverb
Today is supposed to be a wonderful day for a walk in the park or anywhere for that matter. We are to be mid 60’s and sunny today. It’s definitely going to the nicest day of this week. We may be just as warm tomorrow but rain is headed our way.
I used to do a whole lot more walking than what I do now. The mind is willing but the body is not. Walking is like everything else I do. I do a little then rest a lot. I’m just thankful I can still do a little.
I discovered this useful recipe for using up the leftover ham I have here at my house. I did put some in the freezer for later on but still have some that needs to be used.
Cheesy Ham and Vegetable Bake
1 1/2 c. rotini pasta, uncooked
16 oz. pkg. frozen broccoli,
carrots and cauliflower blend
1/2 c. sour cream
1/2 c. milk
1 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar
cheese, divided
1 1/2 c. cooked ham, chopped
1/4 c. onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 c. croutons, crushed
Cook pasta according to package directions; add frozen vegetables to cooking water just to thaw. Drain; place mixture in a 2 quart casserole dish that has been sprayed with nonstick vegetable spray. Mix sour cream, milk, one cup cheese, ham, onion and garlic; stir into pasta mixture in dish. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Sprinkle with croutons and remaining cheese during last 5 minutes of baking. Serves 6.
Sounds pretty good to me !
Today’s pictures were taken out in the front yard here at my house. My beautiful star magnolia tree is blooming now and is a welcome sight each spring. The first picture shows it blooming and the others are when the buds were just beginning to open up. This was a gift from DS#4 many years ago and I always think of him when it blooms.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday !

that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters

Magnolias are blooming in Leavenworth County, too... and I guess I'm right in step, we walked in the park this afternoon :-)
