87 DAYS UNTIL SUMMER

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Good Friday. On Good Friday, Jesus Christ died on the cross. He died for us. But he only died in human form. He then arose from the dead on Easter Sunday morning to show us that there is life after death in heaven. Christ was nailed to the cross at noon. His death came at three o'clock in the afternoon. During this time, many spend time in prayer and silence.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
You can't have Easter without Good Friday.
Old Saying
I’ll be spending some time today reflecting on the happenings of Good Friday. It’s also a day to begin preparations for Easter, but here at my house we’ll be celebrating Easter as a family on next Saturday, April 2nd. so I really don’t have many preparations to make until then.
Many will be decorating eggs for Easter Sunday and I’m thinking that as we decorate those eggs, it’s a good time to think about why we are able to celebrate on Easter Day. The picture above is courtesy of my daughter from last year. I love hard boiled eggs and deviled eggs too. And it’s nice to have leftover Easter eggs to make egg salad for sandwiches !
I found this recipe for a yummy looking Easter Leftover Sandwich to share with you all today. I can’t wait to try it out.
12 whole Hard Boiled Eggs
1/2 cup Mayonnaise
3 Tablespoons Grainy Dijon Mustard
Salt And Pepper, to taste
Several Dashes Worcestershire Sauce
Leftover Baked Ham, Sliced
Kaiser Rolls Or Other Bread
Extra Mayonnaise And Dijon, For Spreading
Swiss Cheese Or Other Cheese Slices
Thinly Sliced Red Onion
Avocado Slices
Sliced Tomatoes
Lettuce, Spinach, Or Arugula
Make egg salad by chopping the hard boiled eggs and mixing in a bowl with mayonnaise, Dijon, salt and pepper, and Worcestershire. Taste and adjust seasonings.Halve the rolls and spread one half with Dijon, the other half with mayonnaise. Sprinkle the mayonnaise spread half with salt and pepper. Lay cheese and ham on the mustard half; lay avocado, onion slices, tomato slices, egg salad, and lettuce on the other half. Bring the two halves together and chow down!Variation: Add bacon!
That sandwich is definitely a meal in itself. This recipe makes 8 servings.
They are saying we may see some snow today as the temps have dropped but the weekend is looking good ! Pictures of the daffodils were taken at the outlet mall yesterday. It was a beautiful but windy Spring day!
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Good Friday !

Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military

with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

That looks delicious! I love egg salad sandwiches. Last night it seemed that all my facebook friends who have young children were dying eggs because everyone put up pictures of their efforts. All so colorful!
Happy Easter Ma if I don't end up reading tomorrow because of moving.

It's so good to see those flowers. We had lots of rain yesterday and some flooding in my neighborhood but I was okay. It is the norm when it rains over an inch. The forsythia is beginning to show up to join the daffodils, giving us our Easter flowers. Have a blessed Easter my friend.
