8 DAYS UNTIL SPRING

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is World Sleep Day. This holiday celebrates the importance of sleep. It comes at a time of year when we are about to Spring forward one hour and loose an hour of sleep, as daylight savings time resumes on Sunday, March 13th.
A good night's sleep is as important to your health as what you eat. One in 15 Americans suffer from sleep apnea and more than 100 million people around the world are not getting enough sleep.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The two best physicians of them all -- Dr. Laughter and Dr. Sleep.
Gregory Dean Jr.
I really don’t have any problems sleeping. I get a good 8 hours of sleep on most nights and I manage a nap or two during the day. With Spring almost here I’m even looking forward to a few naps on the porch.
They say that as a rule of thumb, it takes about one day to adjust for each hour of time change. The hour we loose in Spring will come back in the fall, and I for one will be happy to see it come back.
Although no one likes to loose an hour of sleep, we’ll have an extra hour of daylight in the evenings to enjoy But remember that for just a short couple of weeks our mornings will be darker an hour longer too. Slowly but surely they’ll both be longer.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention today would have been my DDH’s 74th birthday had he lived. However he never saw a gray hair nor a wrinkle. He’ll remain forever young. Always loved, and deeply missed.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday !

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Have courage for the great sorrows of life, and patience for the small ones. When you have laboriously accomplished your daily tasks, go to sleep in peace. God is awake.

A bit of love from someone dear…

That is neat, Ma, that you and your husband shared birthdays within days of each other. How funny that today is World Sleep Day; I woke up at 3 a.m. and couldn't get back to sleep for a bit so came out and laid on the couch, read a bit before going back to sleep :) Arizona doesn't change the time so we don't have to worry about that with the losing of the sleep, but my work schedule got changed as a result of the time change so I'll have to remember to start an hour earlier come Monday (but the advantage is finishing up an hour earlier at the end of the day to enjoy the evening light :)

Hooray for a good night's sleep. It makes all the difference I think. I am so sorry that you had to love your husband so early in life. I am sure he must have been a very special man, husband and father. Your loyalty to him and his memory are inspiring. Our clocks will not be springing forward until a bit later on. It confuses me when that happens. I wish it would all just stay the same. I hope you have a lovely Saturday and weekend. xoxo
