4 DAYS UNTIL SPRING
Sunrise: 7:40 am
Sunset: 7:36 pm
Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Buzzard Day. This is a date which is circled on the calendars of many dedicated Ohio residents who, once a year, eagerly scan the skies with binoculars watching for its return. For them this graceful, winged creature with its bald head and red beak signals, not death, but rebirth.
The mid March buzzard celebration is led by an ‘Official Buzzard Spotter’ on the Hinckley Reservation in the Cleveland Metroparks. A large number of enthusiasts converge on Buzzard Roost at around 6:30 am in anticipation of the bird’s return. Those for whom this is beyond the call of duty can still participate in the joyous celebrations by attending Buzzard Sunday for festive family fun that celebrates the return of this flying precursor to spring.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Every spring is the only spring - a perpetual astonishment.
Ellis Peters
There are many signs pointing to Spring around here and for me it’s been robins not buzzards, but the buzzards are an Ohio thing so I thought I stick this holiday in for everyone today.
The grass is getting greener day by day and the tulip and daffodil tops are getting higher. Soon there will be buds. I so look forward to seeing them bloom every year.
The time for sunrise and sunset now is just about equal and that also signifies the arrival of Spring. This coming Sunday is Palm Sunday making Easter just two short weeks away. Although it’ will be early this year, I’m hoping at least there won’t be any snow on the ground. With all the mild temps we’ve been having it’s looking good. Last year there was some snow on the ground in places when we had our Easter Egg hunt.
I hope you all have a terrific Tuesday !
PRAYER REQUEST
Please join me in praying for DDIL#6 and her family today. Her mother passed away yesterday. May the dear Lord comfort and strengthen them as they go through this time of loss.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The year's at the spring,
And day's at the morn;
Morning's at seven;
The hill-side's dew-pearled;
The lark's on the wing;
The snail's on the thorn;
God's in his Heaven—
All's right with the world!
Robert Browning
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3679. for signs of Spring everywhere
3680. for pizza leftovers, we enjoyed them
3681. for robins, they always make me smile
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
You can't see Canada across lake Erie, but you know it's there. It's the same with spring. You have to have faith, especially in Cleveland.
Paul Fleischman
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

So sorry to hear about the passing of your daughter in law's mother. Will keep all in prayers.
Never heard of buzzard day; would be interesting to see them return I think; kind of like the swallows at San Juan Capistrano.
