84 DAYS UNTIL SUMMER

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Weed Appreciation Day. What’s wrong with weeds? Natural environments, gardens, parks and public places are home to huge varieties of plants and flowers, and weeds are an important part of that ecosystem. On Weed Appreciation Day, consider how much fun you had with dandelions as a child before you pull them up; and consider how many of these weeds are in fact edible, just make sure to check it’s safe!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
He who hunts for flowers will finds flowers; and he who loves weeds will find weeds.
Henry Ward Beecher
I so remember picking a bouquet of dandelions to give to my mom or stringing them together to make a flower chain to wear. I think they must be an important part of childhood for many. There was an old saying that if you held one under your chin and your chin turned yellow that you loved butter. I did, and I still do.
There are already weeds growing here at my house. They seem to grow faster than the flowers do I’m not much of a weed lover unless they are growing in a field out in the country. I’ve seen some beautiful flowers growing in a field of weeds. We used to collect them and dry them for decorations in the house. Dried thistle makes a lovely addition to a flower arrangement.
When I think of weeds I’m always reminded too that negative thoughts can grow like weeds. As we plant the garden of our mind, we must select thoughts that will grow into beautiful flowers. We prepare the soil by taking care of our bodies. Good nutrition, adequate sleep, fresh air and exercise all contribute to a healthy garden in our minds.
The temps are supposed to be dropping about 20 degrees today. It was such a beautiful Easter Sunday so I’m thankful for that, but it is way to early to have 70 degree days every day. I have more pictures of some of the family decorating Easter Eggs so I could help but share them with you all today!
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday !
COUNTING MY GIFTS

Ella Wheeler Wilcox

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Happiness must be cultivated. It is like character. It is not a thing to be safely let alone for a moment, or it will run to weeds.
Elizabeth Stuart Phelps
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

So fun with the decorating of the eggs! LOL with it being weed appreciation day. The house we moved into was vacant for a few months so no one's been pulling weeds here or cutting them down. That's my project to find something that can come and take care of it so then my husband can get on to a schedule of doing them weekly :)

I LOVE Dandelions! :-) Happy Easter!
Climbing Arabia Mountain has given me such a great love for wildflowers, I am afraid that the smallest flower makes me happy, most people would call them weeds! Happy Monday to you too! xx
