Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is World Sight Day. It is a global event that focuses on bringing attention on blindness and vision impairment. It is observed on the second Thursday of October each year.
This day was created by the World Health Organization in collaboration with the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness.
Today is a good reminder to make that eye exam appointment if you've been putting off.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Of all the senses, sight must be the most delightful.
Helen Keller
Thankfully I can still see. With age comes lots of losses but this is one thing I still have and yes, I do wear glasses.
DD says her older dog has not been doing well at all so please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Getting old is never easy.
It’s looking like today may be the best day of the week here with temps reaching mid 70’s. We’ve just got to be thankful for the nice days that remain this time of year.
I hope you all have a GREAT day! Happy Thursday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Of all God's gifts to the sighted man, color is holiest, the most divine, the most solemn
John Ruskin
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3199. for my sight, it is a blessing indeed.
3200. for another lovely autumn day to look forward to
3201. for our pets, they are like family
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
77 Days Until Christmas
KISMIT - Keep it simple make it fun Think simplicity when it's time to decorate for fall holidays. When selecting decorations, choose solid colors (green, gold, red) and general themes like using pumpkins and not Jack o Lanterns that can multitask throughout the Autumn months.
By keeping the background items simple and basic, it's easy to swap out smaller, more holiday specific items for a fresh look! For example, a gold tablecloth graces October's stacked apples, then serves as a base for Halloween's candy corn table runner. After October 31, roll up the runner and substitute small pilgrim candles. Come December, replace the centerpiece with a colorful mound of shiny glass ornaments in a clear bowl. Easy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
We're all precious in God's sight.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

So sorry to hear about your daughter's dog; hard to see our beloved pets aging. I need glasses, but glad I still have the opportunity to see. I can't imagine not being able to, though I know people (and animals) do adjust to it. I remember when the kids were in school they always got their eyes tested in October; maybe it was to correspond with this day.

Sight is such a blessing.
I will keep the sweet dog in my prayers. Our Cocker is blind and it breaks my heart...she is thirteen. I do love my animals.
Hope your day is blessed.

I'll say a prayer for the older boy :-(. Our Lilly is getting there, too.
It got up to 92 today for pete's sake, in Leavenworth County, KS!
