THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Stressed spelled backwards is desserts. Coincidence? I think not!

When I was a child we’d often consider some apple butter on a biscuit as dessert, especially when we’d visit my grandparents on the farm. My mom always made apple butter too and my oldest son is keeping up the family tradition by making some each year and that is what the pictures are of today. He cooked up 30 pounds of apples and then added my mom’s secret ingredients. It’s always the best apple butter around.
I found an easy and delicious recipe to try out for dessert here at my house in order to celebrate this holiday.
Carmel Filled Brownies
1 box brownie mix, plus ingredients to prepare
3 large Cadbury Carmello Candy Bars
Prepare the brownies as directed on the box. Pour into a 9 by 13 pan. Place the candy bars side by side into the brownie mix. Push down a bit and spread a little brownie mix to cover the candy bars. Bake as directed on the box.
Sounds simple enough to me and now all I have to do is find those Cadbury Carmello Candy Bars.
They are saying the weather is really going to turn chilly this coming weekend with some night time temps in the mid 30’s. That sounds very close to freezing to me. I guess it is time to do some October chores like draining the garden hose and putting it away. I’ll also be shutting off the outdoor water faucets too and draining the lines. The patio table and chairs will also be going into the garage for the winter. Better safe than sorry. Frozen water lines can do a lot of damage.
On the bright side we still will have some daytime temps in the 50’s and 60’s .
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Happiness is life served up with a scoop of acceptance, a topping of tolerance and sprinkles of hope, although chocolate sprinkles also work.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3217. for desserts, always good
3218. for a new recipe to try and it's so simple
3219. for above freezing temps, I’m not ready to be cold

71 Days Until Christmas
Now's the time to make a quick check of the household's stock of bathroom supplies. Watch for sales on toilet paper, tissues, paper towels and soap and buy when the price is right.
While you're at it, make a quick survey of the items your family will need during cough and cold season. Check supplies of over the counter medications and add any needed items to the seasonal shopping list. We’ll be ready for holiday guests or the season's first sniffles with a well stocked bathroom.
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU !

You're blessed when you're content with just who you are—no more, no less. That's the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can't be bought
