Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
World Pasta Day is celebrated on the October 25th of each year, and the idea behind it was sparked by the World Pasta Congress in 1995. If you’d like to celebrate Pasta Day at home, gather around the table, alongside your family members, share some spaghetti and meatballs !
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
People just adore pasta. It's a simple fact.
Marc Vetri
I do love spaghetti and meatballs too. I know I’ve shared my recipes for them before so won’t do that today but will definitely be making some soon here at my house. The pictures today are of a pasta dinner I had here at my house some time ago and of one of my darling little granddaughters enjoying the leftovers too! Hard to believe that our sweet sugar AB will be 3 years old next month.
Did you know that there are over 600 shapes of pasta known to mankind, and their names are descriptive of their shapes. Spaghetti is shaped like a cord, vermicelli like little worms, rotini looks like spirals, fusilli is like spindles, tortellini are like little cakes, linguini is like little tongues, conchiglie are shaped like shells, fettuccine are like small ribbons, penne like quills and capellini are fine hairs. All are savory little goodies that are essential to any pantry.
It’s to be a cooler but brighter day here in my part of the world. For the most part it was a dark old gloomy Saturday here and I’m looking forward to seeing some sunshine.
I hope you all have a RESTFUL and relaxing Sunday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Life is a combination of magic and pasta.
Federico Fellini
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3250. for spaghetti and meatballs, always good comfort food
3251. for pasta, so many shapes and ways to fix it
3252. for a brighter day
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
60 Days Until Christmas
Now’s the time to get ready to pen your holiday newsletter. It’s nice to include a picture or two of your family and some highlights of the past year. You might also want to add some funny things that have happened or some of the cute things the children have said. Here at my house, I simply add a note on each card that I write. Taking time now to plan what you want to say can save some later on. Christmas newsletters give us a chance to catch up with family and friends that we haven’t seen for some time.
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

I love spaghetti too!!! What a cute little Angel!! She looks like she is enjoying her spaghetti!! It has been unseasonably warm here! We have actually been running the a/c again!! I hope you have a BLESSED day!!
I always say I haven't met a potato or pasta that I didn't like :) Pasta is definitely a favorite of mine! I didn't realize there were so many different varieties though :) So cute with your little grand daughters enjoying a tasty meal :) We are enjoying more fall like weather here with cooler temps but lots of sunshine still :)

Oh what a sweet little spaghetti monster you have there Pam!! Such a cutie pie! What is it about kids and spaghetti? I love pasta myself and whole heartedly embrace a day devoted to it! Todd however struggles with it. It's not a food he really likes. I hope you have a lovely and blessed Sunday! xoxo
Oh yum! Why, I think that (last) little photo of your angel's expression could be used in an advertisement. No words, necessary!
You know, the term "pasta" in Italy can also mean pastries? Years ago when I was staying with an ex-beau at his home in northern Italy we were waiting for an early-morning train. He asked, did I want pasta and I thought, "Seriously? At this time of day; are you out of your mind?".
