Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
October 26th is Howl At the Moon Day and Night. The name of the holiday comes from the belief that wolves howl at the Moon. According to lore, on a full Moon night, wolves upturn their head towards the Moon and communicate with it by howling. The truth is that wolves howl to communicate with the rest of their pack. Because they are nocturnal, they hunt for food at night and sleep during the day so they tend to howl at night. They turn their heads up when howling because doing so helps carry their sounds further.
With Halloween just right around the corner, it may be the perfect chance to try it out.
Happy Howl at the Moon Day and Night !

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Regardless of weather, the moon shines the same; it is the drifting clouds that make it seem different on different nights.

The full Hunters Moon of October is actually on the 27th of this month, that is tomorrow. I enjoy seeing it light up the sky and always think of those far away and imagine we are all seeing the same moon. Now that is something to howl about. Ha!
They say the weather this week will be normal for us this time of year. We’ll be in the 50’s and low 60’s for the most part. Really it’s not bad at all considering we are in the last week of October. Its time to give out warnings about the time change so everyone is aware that the time changes this coming Sunday, November 1st.
An hour isn’t a long time at all when you think about it, but it sure makes a big difference to me. This time change means we set our clocks back an hour, so it’s really not a big deal, it’s the one hour we loose in the spring that bothers me. So don’t forget we do get to reclaim that hour we lost on November 1st, Sunday morning.
FALL BACK - first warning!
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week! Happy Monday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3253. for normal days that are truly wonderful
3254. for a bright full moon, it always lights up a dark night
3255. for a new week, another new beginning
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
59 Days Until Christmas
Shorter days mean darker evenings; time for a lighting check! Circle the house to replace any burned out light bulbs. Do dark hallways need a nightlight for safety? Prepare a cozy home for Winter.
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
May every sunrise hold more promise, every moonrise hold more peace.

I did notice when I woke up in the middle of the night last night that we were getting close to a full moon since it was more bright outside than usual. I might howl at it tonight :)
Since we don't change the clocks back in Arizona; I'll just have to remember that the other parts of the country do; before we were on the same time as California; now we'll be one hour ahead. Can get confusing at times :)

Last night as I was closing the blinds, I noticed the most beautiful moon over the lake....magical.
I love this time of year.
Blessings!

I am looking forward to cooler, darker evenings, but it means walking the dogs earlier! We just got back, and it is full dark here now!
