Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is World Food Day. This holiday was first launched in 1945. The reason World Food Day was created was to celebrate the launch of the United Nation’s Food and Agriculture Organisation.
The main principle which World Food Day celebrates is the furtherance of food security all over the world, especially in times of crisis. Its annual celebration serves as a marker of the importance of this organisation and helps to raise awareness of the crucial need for successful agriculture policies to be implemented by governments across the world to ensure there is ample food available for everyone.
While one in seven people go to bed hungry every night, the world has the means and resources to eliminate global hunger.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Hunger: One of the few cravings that cannot be appeased with another solution.
Irwin Van Grove
It seems like food is one thing I have plenty of here at my house. The cupboards are stocked and I could probably live off what is here for quite awhile without going hungry. It’s sad that there are hungry people in our world and I pray a remedy is found to alleviate hunger anywhere in the world.
Pumpkins a very popular food this time of year and today’s pictures are of our little X Factor at the pumpkin farm. They say there may be a shortage of pumpkins this year, but I haven’t seen any sign of it here in northern Ohio. Pumpkins are everywhere.
I got to go to a wonderful Amish bakery yesterday and found a pumpkin spice angel food cake to serve for dessert this weekend. While it would be good on it’s own I thought I'd look for something different to do with it so I did a search and this is what I found:
Harvest Cream Cheese Frosting
½ cup butter, softened
1 8 oz pkg cream cheese, softened
2 cups powdered sugar
1 TB maple syrup
½ tsp pumpkin pie spice
In a large bowl or stand mixer bowl, combine butter and cream cheese until blended and smooth. Add powdered sugar, gradually. Mixing after each addition. Add maple syrup and pumpkin pie spice and beat on medium high speed until smooth and creamy.
I might just put some sprinkles on top too, making it look a little festive !
We had a beautiful blue sky day here yesterday but by evening the rain moved in and it’s to be a chilly weekend with a chance of frost. It will be a good time to bake something and let the oven warm the kitchen.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
When the stomach is full the heart is glad.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.

3225. for ripe bananas, they will make some good banana bread
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
69 Days Until Christmas
It’s time to think about a way to add a little fun to each meal on Halloween day. For example, use a pumpkin cookie cutter on the toast at breakfast. Put orange food coloring in the milk at lunch. My favorite is to serve spaghetti and ‘eyeballs' for dinner.
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Take time enough for your meals, and eat them in company whenever you can. There is no need for hurry in life—least of all when we are eating.
Edward Everett Hale
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
