Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
On this date in 1951 the Red Skelton Show debuted on NBC TV almost 10 years to the day after Red made his radio debut. America’s Clown Prince of Comedy was a hit for years on radio and an even bigger one on TV with characters like The Mean Wittle Kid , Clem Kadiddlehopper, Sheriff Deadeye, Cauliflower McPugg, Willie Lump Lump, San Fernando Red, Bolivar Shagnasty and Freddie the Freeloader. Later, he would move to CBS TV. Overall, The Red Skelton Show remained a fixture on U.S. television for 20 years.
Thank you and may God bless

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
If by chance some day you're not feeling well and you should remember some silly thing I've said or done and it brings back a smile to your face or a chuckle to your heart, then my purpose as your clown has been fulfilled.
Red Skelton
I love the old TV shows we used to have. They were fun for the whole family. They were wholesome ! Any more we really do have to be careful about what the whole family watches. Those were times when things were a little less stressful. Where family values were first and everyone was at the dinner table together.
Laughter is a good thing and I know I could use more of it in my life. Laughing can seem like a minor thing, something we do without really thinking much about it. We all do it from time to time. some more than others, and we've been doing it since we were babies. For me, laughter is one of the most positive things I can experience. I really love to laugh and think that laughter allows us to really be in the more in the moment, fully enjoying life.
If you can find a reason to laugh every day, you'll find that your mood will improve, your relationships with others will seem more meaningful and effortless, and life's hurdles won't seem so daunting. The pictures today are of my little dancing flower that sits on my kitchen window sill. It’s solar powered and the leaves go up and down it looks like it is dancing. I figure it’s good for a laugh now and then. Today they say we may get some rain with a little cool down here…we’ll see if my flower does it’s happy dance or not.
I hope you all have a terrific Tuesday filled with laughter and joy.
85 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS
For those that plan on traveling during the holidays, now is the time to plan your trip.
Plan early for the smoothest trip!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
No matter what your heartache may be, laughing helps you forget it for a few seconds.
Red Skelton
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for almost 2 years and have now reached 2000 gifts. On my way now to 3000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
2084. for those that make us laugh
2085. for a good laugh, it cures heavy hearts and tired minds and sick bodies
2086. for my family with whom I laugh and enjoy life with.
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Live by this credo: have a little laugh at life and look around you for happiness instead of sadness. Laughter has always brought me out of unhappy situations.
Red Skelton
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

I liked the sunflower plant, Ma :) Very cheerful looking! I too agree about the old TV shows, they were good ones enjoyed by all without having to worry about rating them for their content that might not be suitable for all family members. Always agree that a laugh does a lot of things for our bodies indeed! Enjoy Tuesday!
