WELCOME FALL!
Today we say, So long summer and autumn begins. The autumnal equinox brings the fall season to the Northern Hemisphere on: September 22 at 10:29 P.M. EDT. We're starting a new season today. You might even say we're turning over a new leaf.
Get prepared: It's time to kiss long days and warm weather goodbye and welcome in crisp temperatures and crunchy leaves. You've no doubt noticed the shift of late. Dawn arrives later, making it harder to get out of bed in the morning. Night falls much more quickly.
Summer is in the rear view mirror. There's a chill in the air. And it's time to start thinking about firewood, mittens, apple cider and Halloween costumes.
Happy Fall Y’All !
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I cannot endure to waste anything so precious as autumnal sunshine by staying in the house. So I have spent almost all the daylight hours in the open air.
Nathaniel Hawthorne
I love the cooler mornings, colorful trees, warm sunshine, apple picking and of course all the pumpkin flavored everything. Pumpkin spice lattes are great, but one of my favorite fall drinks is hot apple cider. I just poor some in a cup and microwave it till it is nice and warm. Apple cider will be a staple her at my house in the days to come.
I will be missing summer and am thankful for the warmer sunny days that we’ll have. As you all know I’m affected by the lack of day light hours and hibernate all winter long, so before that happens I want to enjoy these lovely days.
It’s time for a Fall Bucket List and here is what I came up with
Go to the apple orchard
Bake something pumpkin
Eat carmel apples
Buy and eat candy corn mixed with some dry roasted peanuts
Take a scenic drive
Buy a fall scented candle
Make and eat apple crisp
Knit something cozy
I’m sure there will be lots more to do and see this fall. There will be plenty of golden days ahead. I watched a movie called the Bucket List the other night and it reminded me to make this one.
I hope you all have a great start to this new week and new season. Happy Monday! Happy Fall!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
There is a harmony in autumn, and a luster in its sky, which through the summer is not heard or seen, as if it could not be, as if it had not been!
Percy Bysshe Shelley
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for almost 2 years and have now reached 2000 gifts. On my way now to 3000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
2060. for the cooler but sunny days of fall
2061. for apple cider and pumpkin bread
2062. for a plentiful supply of yarn
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Autumn is the perfect time to take account of what we’ve done, what we didn’t do, and what we’d like to do next year.

I like your bucket list for fall, Ma! All are great activities to welcome in and enjoy the fall season! We had a cooler morning than we've had for a few weeks here so I guess fall is in the air here too :)

Happy Fall to you too!
And candy corn with peanuts sounds good! I think that could be a gluten free snack for my hubby. Thank you! xx
I love your autumn bucket list Pam! I wish we had more things over here that we could use to decorate with for the autumn. How wonderful that you had such a great time with your grandchildren! xxoo
