Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
It's National Wildlife Day! Today is a celebration of all the amazing creatures in nature. It is also an opportunity to raise awareness about the many endangered species in this country and around the world.
It’s a great day to visit your local zoo, adopt a pet, donate to your favorite animal shelter, or volunteer to help in any way you can. Help make a difference!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Those who wish to pet and baby wild animals, love them. But those who respect their natures and wish to let them live normal lives, love them more.
Edwin Way Teale
Nature is beautiful and wildlife is a part of nature. There is a reason and a purpose for every living thing. We don’t know just what purpose mosquitoes have at all, but we do have them. Sometimes due to unnatural occurrences nature gets out of hand. In our area there are places that are being overrun with deer. In many cases these beautiful creatures were put out of their natural environment because huge housing developments took the place of the fields they used to live in.
Fall will soon be here and with that comes warnings for us to watch out for the deer on the roadways. Dusk is often their feeding time and it’s then that we are to be specially aware.
Thankfully we haven’t seen our neighborhood ground hog for awhile and we are hoping he found a better place to live. I hope he found a place far from our busy streets. Wild life is happier in the wild.
I hope you all have a great day! Happy Thursday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
To see a world in a grain of sand,
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour.
William Blake
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for over almost 2 years and have now reached 2000 gifts. On my way now to 3000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
2006. for the beauty of nature all around us
2007. for shelters that help find homes for stray animals
2008. for a refreshing shower on a hot day
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Don’t refuse to go on an occasional wild goose chase — that’s what wild geese are for.

I do remember seeing deer when we lived in Montana and had to be careful to avoid them on the road. Now we just have racoons, possums, and coyotes :)
betty
We always had to be careful this time of year back home for deer crossing the year at night. The thing to remember is if there is one, there is usually another one right behind it. Best to be careful. Love the cute bunny in your top pic and that squirrel is a hoot! We used to have a lot of wild life in our garden down South, not so much here in the city now except for sparrows. We have a lovely zoo here in Chester, which we hope to visit one day. There is a lovely drama program on the telly at the moment about the beginnings of the zoo. It's called The Zoo. I know! haha Love and hugs! xxoo
