87 DAYS UNTIL WINTER
90 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS
Sunrise: 7:19 am
Sunset: 7:20 pm
Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is National Comic Book Day. Comic books are great reading. They either tell an ongoing story, provide humor, or offer intrigue and suspense. In all comic books, good eventually prevails over evil. So, comic books always make us feel good.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Good can always triumph over evil.
Walt Disney
I like comics, but it’s been a long time since I’ve opened the pages of a Comic Book. I do like the idea of good prevailing over evil though. It always does. There is nothing quite like the shinning knight that comes to save the princess.
Hope and faith will always triumph over adversity just as good will always triumph over evil. Bad things do happen in life and sometimes forget what’s most important. Family. Friends. Children. We may take the people we love for granted, without even realizing that we are doing so. Tragedies are a harsh reminder that life is short, and not always fair. We need to cherish each day we have with each other, because we never know what tomorrow will bring.
One of my favorite poems that has been credited to Mother Teresa says:
People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway.
What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway.
Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway.
In the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.
Doing good and persevering always pays off in the end. Today’s pictures are of a sunny Sunflower that is blooming in a pot by the bird feeder here at my house. They always make me smile!
I hope you all have a great day! Happy Thursday!
It’s 90 days until Christmas and it’s time to set up a gift closet. Gift closets are a space where you want to store gifts you get until Christmas. In my case I call it the gift station. My old pool table in the basement provides the perfect place out of sight, to put any gifts I accumulate and also has enough space on it to do the wrapping too. Now all I have to do is clear off everything else that has accumulated there.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
For today and its blessings, I owe the world an attitude of gratitude.
Clarence E. Hodges
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for almost 2 years and have now reached 2000 gifts. On my way now to 3000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
2069. for a few warmer days with no need to turn the heat on
2070. for the power of love that always wins
2071. for chicken and rice soup that takes the chill off
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Conquer anger by love, evil by good; conquer the miser with liberality, and the liar with truth.
Unknown
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

What a pretty sunflower, Ma! I like your gift station you have set up. It would give you plenty of room to put all the presents you need to get ready for Christmas celebration with your family :)
